Ok I have been at this table maybe 20-25 hands. Only 2 hands I have played is I flatted KQs in bb to CO min raise when sb flatted also, then c/s KQ5 flop with no showdown. Then I flatted 66 in bb to open and c/r on A8x flop, guy called then checked down to rvr when he missed a flush draw.
The guy that 5x raises this hands, I have not seen play one pot besides his sb flat in the KQ hand. I am sitting ~40bb deep and this is the hand directly after the 66 hand where I took down a nice size pot.
What is my best play here? Do I flat OOP and see a flop and proceed? Do I make it 35-40k then call a shove? make a 3bet then fold QQ? Pile? fold? What do you think and why? Thank you. Will post results later.

this deep in this tourney id prob flat???? I mean Idk if thats terrible but I really like my edge in this tourney.
-
Use your timebank and look him up real quick on OPR or whatever site you use. How do you think he is seeing you right now? His range at this point could be anything but it smells like mid pocket or AK etc. Folding isn't an option. Question is if you make a play at it now what is he going to do? My guess is that he'll snap it in. So I think you see a flop and go from there. Then again I'm a total nit so you might want to wait for some more replys lol.

if he actually has AA/KK with this sizing, i'd be fairly surprised...I think ur best play here is to 3b to around 42-45k/call a shove. Shoving isn't terrible, but if his initial raise size is so spazzy, i'm guessing he will flat ur 3b with weaker holdings a fair amount of the time, so I think 3b/call is best

so QQ isnt strong enough to flat here or just isnt optimal, not a fan of these spots so would like to also hear?
ya bc he will def call with worse..... -
Thanks for the replies so far. I did OPR him when I timebanked and he only has 300ish games played at a 26 abi and is not a winner over that sample(sorry I didnt put that in OP). Any more thoughts then I will post my action/results.

I hate a flat since it may also give the limper odds to call. I don't want to play QQ OOP in a 3-way pot.
Given the huge preflop raise, I would almost min-3bet to 30-35k with the intent of jamming a raise/calling a shove. -
Edited By: weeminer Mar 14th, 2011 at 10:52 PMDoubt he folds 1010 JJ AK... You can't flat because you could be playing 2 players oop and what are you gonna do if an ace or king flops?Originally Posted by jtj03

OP, only two options, either raise to 37-40k/call shove or just shove. Whichever of those two options he will more likely spaz out on/give you less credit for is the one you should do. -
Never folding. I'd go with what TheDean and Weeminer said.
-
OOP I jam it in there turn off my monitor and hope he doesn't have AA/KK, win a flip with AK or bad beat me.
In position I re-pop it to about 45k and insta call shove and hate my life.
Tough spot. -
Ok thanks for all the replies and reasoning. I though I did what was right but this hand just stung me for a while and thought about it going to sleep last night.
Guess Ill just chalk this one up to the coolers. GL at the tables everyone.

You were never getting away from this hand however you played it. Just UL. I'm still in favor of seeing the flop though no matter how bad it might sound to some.
-
I Probly just jam. Reckon he will call lighter that way. If you make it 40 and he ships he's prebly AK/ jj at the worst.
-
I'd make it 40k/call. Not a big fan of flatting. He'll flat your 3 bet enough and fold the flop or get it in with worse to make 3 bet/call > jamming. I think I'd just fold if I had jacks in this spot. I do agree that its usually not aces for him in this spot with this sizing but it is Kings more than people think. As played kind of crappy spot due to the sizing but I'd deffinitly 3 bet/call qq+ and ak. GG UL if you got coolered
