Good or bad? And I presume it's better to be the raiser than the caller?
It means you're putting in like 30-40BBs at a coinflip at best, but with a chance to make a huge stack ready to just kill the table.
Better to wait for a spot with a made hand, or gamble early? -
Depends on the player, buy in level etc.
When I played a lot of micros I don't think I ever folded AK preflop.
Maybe a leak? Dunno. Normally worked out okay. -
Sorry, yeah, obviously missed out important info. Micro levels against randoms without reads. I guess when they 3-bet shove a full stack their range is pretty much 99+, AQ+ and rarely ever KK or AA because they raise those for value.

Ding, Ding, Ding! You are correct sir :) :)

Micro levels yeah id never fold AK early in, id def prefer to be the aggressor and make them call my raise/all in . Its allways a coin flip but if it holds its nice to be table CL.
-
Or else just load another up eh?

Cheers guys. Clearly I knew the answers to these questions, it's just better to hear it confirmed by somebody else. -
I play the 20s and 30s and Im rarley folding AK pre unless its a know reg or someone I have super tight note on. Only 2 real hands have you crushed. If they have TT-QQ and you lose a flip no biggy fire up another one.
In micros I would neeeeever fold AK pre. -
Yea AK I rarely fold Pre-Flop in the 10's and 20's my AIPF get called by as 44+ and A9+ so its important to keep notes on these types of players.
-
I think your micro ranges are way too tight. So many players like to diarrhea away chips with JT and A7. The amount of times you are dominating/ahead/flipping vastly outnumber the times they wake up with aa or kk, easy spot to get it in.
-
i only stack off with AK if its NOT a rebuy :)
i also dont stack off with AK if im TILTING -
Agreed.
I'd only fold AK to a very good regs pf raise early in the game or possibly to a raise and reraise pf, otherwise I'm going with it.I've been called by far worse than J10,A7 too on a regular basis.( $6.50-$22's stt's and $16 18 player games)Originally Posted by BSherman2

People are too quick to assign ranges similar to their own ( assuming they're a winning player) when most micro donks can barely tie their own shoelaces. -
^^ totally agree with this. Throw in any baby PP, SCs, Ax.
