Actually not a fan of this play unless you are shoving w/ur big pocket pairs also since I doubt you are, this 30bb shove basically screams I have AK. Think you are better off raising to 1800-2100 w/intention of calling a push.
-
Raising to 1800-2000 I think is much better. You are shipping 30bbs here, something you probably wouldn't do with AA, KK, QQ. By making it 1800-2k you give him the chance to 4 bet worse.
-
So you guys are saying that i am better off hoping an ep 3x raiser will 4 bet jam 22-QQ,AJ,AQ,KQ and not show up with KK-AA than to let them think i always have AK here and call with all pairs knowing they are ahead? definitely appreciate the replies and just want to follow the thought process beheind the reraise.

By raising to 1800-2k you make your hand pretty strong, and disguise it to the same way you would play TT+
Also, someone behind you can possibly fold a hand like 99/TT/JJ because your RR of an EP open looks soo much stronger than a shove, which screams AK/AQ, and therefore, 99/TT/JJ might call looking to flip. Regardless, you will go allin with the hand if you need to after you put a 1/3 of your stack in. Ultimately, we are just trying to give the illusion our hand is better than what we hold
