GL, squik was really loose crazy at my earlier table. THE D RY is a strong player, but you have him covered and have position....

  6. 2nd place for $15,200..

With 5 left, I was completely dominating the table. I had a huge chip lead. Once the short stack got knocked out and we were down to 4, the table got much more aggressive. I wasn't able to steal, got reraised allin many times, etc and I was card dead during that period. I got into heads up with a chip lead over Squik, and for a while was dominating play and built a huge lead. He clawed his way back over a period of 30 minutes by playing aggressively when I couldn't hit a damn flop at all.

After over an hour of heads up, we were close to even. He took the lead, and then I took it back on a big bluff. The blinds got really big (15k/30k). I raised with 99, he called, and the flop was 7 high with two diamonds. I bet, he raised, I moved allin.. he called with QQ. No help, and I was crippled.. next hand moved allin, he called and I was gone in 2nd.

I should have finished him off but was unable to pick up any hands or hit any flops, and when he got really short he was pushing constantly. Squik played a good tournament.. he's a tough player. I give him props, but the whole heads up match came down to two big hands running into eachother, with mine being second best.

Oh well.. 2nd place aint so bad

  7. appreciate the advice, Jeff. I don't remember exactly what I had here.. it was a real shit hand though. I was looking at the pot size and doing the math based on what I figured he had.. my instincts told me I was in real bad shape. I dont remember my hand but I do remember thinking that.

At the time, my strategy was also to chip away at them and make them pick up hands and try not to play any big pots and double people up unless I had big hands myself or really was commited. It worked to an extent, since I did take the chiplead into heads up, but hey.. could have basically won the whole thing when it was 3 or 4 handed if I had a HUGE lead I suppose =)
