    Next Week will be "PokerStars Feature Site Week" here on PocketFives.com.

    PokerStars has taken a keen interest in our community and wants to start running more promotions for PocketFivers. We're starting it off with a bang by featuring them all next week.

    The purpose of Feature Site Week is threefold: To run a great promotion for the community, to inform players of all the reasons to play on PokerStars, and to get signups to PokerStars through our links on PocketFives.

    We've got three promotional tourneys lined up, but first everyone should know that any PocketFiver who wins an MTT (can't be a satellite or multi-table SNG) on PokerStars next Monday through Friday will get a free PocketFives.com Card Protector! Just send support an email letting us know you won, send your name and address, and we'll take care of the rest.

    Wednesday, Nov 1: The Ninth PocketFives.com Open
    Starts at 9 PM ET. Password is p5sopen. $20+2.
    There will be over $1000 worth of bounties! Details coming next week. Many Admins and ranked players will be playing. Everyone who enjoys this site is welcome to play!     It means satellites don't count and multi table sit and goes do not count. I know most people would understand that when I say MTT, but I also know one of the first questions to be posted if I didn't say that would be "Do 180 man sng's count?"

    Im always skeptical of these "special offers" but DAMN...this one is pretty simple. P5s + Added Money= Great Deal!!

    That 25 seat added tourney is INSANE. With a $20 tourney, there is already gonna be one seat for every 11 people...even if there are 300-400 people, that still brings it down to like 1 seat for every 6.5 people....thats CRAZY!

    I dont know who kicks more ass here, stars or P5s....either way, thanks for what I consider the best promotion to date on this site!!

    If p5's players were any good; there wouldn't be much value in these. The DS satellites are already as soft as they come. Luckily most of P5ers are in fact donks, as I realized when playing the bodog and titan freerolls.

    What's the point of ripping on people based on how they played in a freeroll? The value of the 25 seat added is obvious---even with 500 players, there'd be more than a 100% overlay in the tournament. The value of the P5s open is two-fold: You get to spend an enjoyable evening playing poker and chatting with your fellow P5ers and you have an opportunity to pick up over $1000 in added bounties and prizes. I don't think I have to explain the value of playing a freeroll that gives away real prizes...

    hmm...I was partially being sarcastic. Anyway the point of the post was to coax those who did not want to play vs p5's competition to come join the freeroll.

    One of the most important parts of poker is game selection and even with so mcuh added money, don't you think the players in the tournament negate a large portion of that value?

    I would say the opposite. 9pm EST is 6pm Pacific, which is really early for people on the west who have to get home from work in time to play. They are trying to cater to everyone on the site, not one contingent at the expense of all others.

    Correct. People on the west coast have to rush home from work to play, and people on the east coast may have to stay up a little later than usual if they go real deep in one of these. People in Europe have to play in the middle of the night if they want in! This is just the way it goes---we picked times that will allow the most possible members to play.

    So, how about just ONE that starts at 7pm????? ONE, ALL I AM ASKING FOR IS ONE!!!!

    I don't see why there can't be a middle ground... how about a 7pm that has 12 seats and a 9pm that has 13 seats? OR Friday.

    or do one on Friday, so I can play.

    EDIT - sorry, its just frustrating that I can never ever get to participate in these things because I get up at 4:30am every day.

    Glad you guys have worked out something with stars! Hopefully some people come and give us a shot that havent before. I will also add a $100 bounty on my head for the Pocketfives Open if you want to add that to the list. Just look for The Great Gazoo at the tables and gun for him!
