Just got lucky enough to run good this weekend in a tourney on Stars. I've never received something like this before and wondering if it's legit. Obv I am lenient and skeptical about giving away personal information such as this via e-mail. Do I have anything to worry about???
Hello,
Congratulations on your win.
As per standard security practice all winners of our Signature Tournaments
are reviewed before they are allowed to either cash out their winnings.
While reviewing your account it has come to our attention that it has not
yet been verified, please note that as a licensed and registered company, we
are required by International laws to perform these identity verifications
on our customers and to hold proof of such.
We request that you please submit the following information:
1. A clear photocopy of your driver's license, front and back, or other
government-issued Photo ID. It must be current (have not expired) including
an issuing and expiration date, and must clearly show your date of birth and
photograph.
2. A clear photocopy of your most recent utility bill (phone, gas, water
etc.) showing name, address and statement date. If you don't have any
utility bills in your name, you may send us a recent credit card or bank
statement in your name.
Please include your user ID if you're going to fax these documents. This can
be forwarded to us by Email as an attachment, or by fax to:

the full document (bill/pay stubs, folded papers, covered information and
partial sections are not accepted).
- The Email attachments do not exceed 5 MB and are in JPEG (.jpg) or PDF
(.pdf) format. If you do not have access to a scanner, we will accept
digital photos of the documents providing they meet the requirements above.
- The documents provided as proof of address cannot be older than 3 months.
Again, congratulations on your win! We look forward to your response.

I doubt F[ull]T[ilt]P[oker]Doug cares to comment on pokerstars Security policy. Email Pokerstars about it though...

This is standard....they will ask for this on big transfers sometimes or big cashouts. I assume you verified that its actually from pokerstars. Just e-mail scanned copies of requested documentation and all should be good.
