Before I get flamed too bad just wanted to point out I am thinking around 3-5 years down the road unless I hit a good score in a tourney or something which probably wont happen soon since I am average at best in tourneys and hope to get better. Cash game player, I like to play 0.50/1 NL tables, 6 of them at a time. Hopefully soon as bankroll permits move up to the 1/2 NL games. I am a single guy that has around $1300-$1500 in bills, food, etc. a month. Thoughts?

Have at least 6 months living expenses saved up. This is not your bankroll. This is not used to pay bills. This is not to be touched. This is in case of an emergency in your life.
Have enough volume in to have a predictable profit level, either a tournament ROI or BB/100 in cash games or whatever. If you're 6-tabling, you could probably expect to make $20/hr if you're quite good, which is enough to live on, but not enough to build your roll and play higher. Move up to 1/2 when you have about $8k in your roll, assuming you're going to try and make a living at it - you cannot make any greater mistake than trying to play too high, too quick. -
Thanks for the great advice grapsfan I appreciate it. :)

not to flame, but I looked up your cash game stats, and youre not ready to move up to 1/2, over stars and tilt you have less then 20k hands logged and you are down money. Work on your game first and prove you are a longterm winner over a minimum 50k hand sample, then start thinking about moving up.
