    Hello folks, fairly new to the whole pocketfives experience. In the past I never took online poker seriously and would put money on here and there and play tournys that consisted of what I put on the site. I primarily played live cash games and for a 2 year period provided my sole income based on grinding cash games. I wasn't anywhere near the best player playing games I was playing, but im a fossil in poker years 30+ and my best aspect of my game was selection and bankroll management. I made enough to pay bills and continue to live life I was living, my discipline was great, and I had enough of a combination of heart, knowledge of play with a touch of skill to beat the games I was playing. I was a low level "pro" and I use that very loosly. It was awkaward telling people what I did for a.living cause everyone thinks u have to play 10k tournys and be on tv to be a "pro".....but I disapointed them when I would say I make $600-$850 a week sometimes putting in sixty hours. Like I.said I wasn't the best player but I put my time in and went through swings just like everyone else, but u would never catch me in pits strip clubs or drinking or smoking weed.....exercise was a key part of my daily routine as well......back to the present.....I have since gotten married and have a child on the way and I am back to being a regular professional, I am a substance abuse counselor now.....I never made the millions.but I have great strories for my son later in life. Since im home at night now with wife rather than the casino, I decided to put a lilttle bit online and try and play some tournament poker, I picked absolute because I felt fields would b softer than the pro heavy tilt and stars fields.....I always prided myself on researching poker jus like I researches my undergrad and graduate studies......tournament poker is such a different beast than cash games I don't have to tell any readers here that. So I joined pocket 5s a week before christmas and every night im on here reading how other, better players than me view poker and poker hands and strategy. Im still far from the best poker player, but since joining this site I have taken down a $4 4 max tourny, a $22 6 max tourny and played 6 ubocs cashing in 2 and making the final 8 in the heads up uboc.....I play small stakes and im earning no badges anytime soon, but poker has been really fun again.....the beats online seem to.happen more often but I know its.only because I see a ton more hands and play a ton more than live so I can deal w it......I no longer play for rent and car payments.....its all for.fun and learning experience......but this time around my bankroll management is better, im attempting to utilize the same thinking I had when I played live for a living.........like I've already said, im nowhere near a great player......I look up to the big boys who do big things and have been such consistent performers for years like maven, deeb, Bax....jus to name a minute few.......coming from a small stakes small time nobody, thanks to all the posters on here who.help an old guy like.me get better at a game that I love......good luck to all who took the time to read my piece, final tables and big scores to all of you......D

    Nice post matey.
    Hope you manage to keep your sanity playing the mtts, the beats that happen are laughable most of the time.

    Apologize fellas, I posted via my droid, screens kinda smallish and for some odd reason it puts periods where they don't belong, lol. Next time ill use the good old lap top, was at a boring function and decided to put my thoughts down on the phone. Thanks for input tho.
