    Comments:

Probably a little low on the expectation end (I'm aiming for 8-10% overall ROI). Heads up hasn't gone well at all... hopefully that'll improve over the next 700. I understand some may be skeptical about these types of stats, so I invite any of you to check "dhubermex" account name on Poker Stars for whatever tracking site you use for verification purposes (but if it says anything different than what's here, it's wrong.) After I finish 1,000 of these (should be sometime early next month), I'll have pokerstars Customer Support send me an ROI/Investment rundown from May 21st to date. I'll post after next 300.

    Good luck at the tables,

    David Huber

  2. why shoot for such a low ROI? i think 25% should be entirely attainable at that level, maybe im wrong tho
  3. I'm not that good! Plus, I'm playing 10 tables at a time :)

  4. i think 10 tabling has something to do with it
     1
  5. wouldnt it be better to 6 or 8 table then if you could double your ROI, whats the point of playing 10 at a time if youre expected return is only 1.50 per one, seems like a major grind to me, hopefully HU starts going better and your ROI increases cause after a 1000 if its still at 5% you should prob. decrease the amount you play, just a thought
  6. what times do you play? playing multi-tablers (like eeznats and gisborne, for example) equals easier steals at critical points in the tournies. I mostly three table either the 16's or 27s, though sometimes 4, or 2.
  7. i was playing a bunch of these 27's and i played with u at least 15 times...i think you play ok, but there are some holes in your game that i noticed (only because i knew you were a p5er did i even pay attention) that i think if you looked more closely you would see also....i also believe for these its really unnnecessary to play more than 4 or 5 at a time....they finish real quick, and you can pick htings up when playing 5 that you cna't pick up on when playing 10 that will help you have more consistant results. i was 4 tabing them for a while with a ROI of 35%, so if i can do it, you can too
  8. "i think you play ok, but there are some holes in your game that i noticed"

sounds about right... i've always had a bunch of holes in my game... just gotta keep workin' on 'em & gettin' better

"i also believe for these its really unnnecessary to play more than 4 or 5 at a time"

i have different preferences & ideaologies - i'll stick to them for now

"i was 4 tabing them for a while with a ROI of 35%, so if i can do it, you can too"

I've never held an ROI of over 15% for any long-term spans on any level or type of SnG's. My overall ROI stands at 12% since i started keeping track of my performance, and i've played well over 5,000 total across the major sites.

While i respect your personal stats, you seem to be confusing me with an excellent player - which i'm not (i probably only possess a very basic level of knowledge when it comes to poker), so i still have a long way to go before i can expect to be as good as you. But i WILL continue to improve! I'm very proud of my effort so far considering my limited talent and other obligations :)

  9. I think you are an all around badass on P5's radio, so your ROI is inconsequential when it comes to pwnership 4 U.
  10. Hi dhubermex, I play the 27 turbos for a living right now and I have played a lot of these 300 with you. I think your goal of 8-10% ROI is very attainable with your game, you have a solid strategy. I 12 table and I dont think people understand how much different that is than 4 tableing, a 8-10% ROI would be very good and I also keep my stats per 1000 and my lowest is 9.8%, and my highest is 13.7%. When I first saw you playing these earlier this week I was kind of mad cause we don't need another good player at this level :), I heard on the podcast or read on here that you used to 16table the $5sngs I think, so I knew you would know basic sng strategy. I was wondering if you could tell me how you decide when to move up in stakes since you have worked your way all the way up to the 27's. I am intrested because I was thinking of moving up to the 60's sometime soon and I would value your opinion, thanks in advance and good luck with the rest of the 1k.

  11. Yes, when I finally got serious about SnG's (around August of last year), I began 16-tabling the $5.50 non-turbos on Poker stars. Since then, I've managed to move up to where I'm at now. I have no idea how the $55+5 Turbos are, but I can only imagine they'd be a little tougher than the ones we're playing now -- which sucks, because these $27's are already more difficult than the $16's.

I'm a bankroll wuss, and have learned that I need at least 60 buy-ins in my account in order to feel comfortable playing 10 or more tables at the same time (i once had a 38 buy-in downswing). I notice that downswings of 25 or more buy-ins (which unfortunately happen all the time) really have a negative impact on my game and on my health.

I don't guess I suffer from "angry tilt" -- but rather I suffer from a huge slide in confidence when these inevitable bad runs hit. It locks my game down and probably reduces my overall expectation to less than 5%; even with the $16's. In these cases, it's often the cards (instead of my own ability) that bring me out of an emotional slump -- and that represents a hole in my game.

However, I evaluate the progress I've made (both money-wise & ability-wise) in the last 12 months and am amazed at just how far I've come. As you're probably aware, I don't make it a habit to judge others' games (unless they happen to be at my table). As long as any player is staying true to his/her own set of values, then I believe he/she is on the right track -- regardless of what many others may think.

    Best of luck to you!

    David

  12. I don't see how you guys 10 table... Isn't that rediculously stressful? Sometimes when I'm playing several tables (4 is the max i go usually), I find that my worst enemy is tilt. If I get bad beat out of one tourney, then I sometimes take unnecessary chances and make stupid bluffs in the other tourneys that I am playing.
  13. I feel the 55's are easier than the 27's. This is because I can think on the same level as most of my opponents. I know how they are thinking, unlike the 27's where there is all types of erratic plays.

  14. I have nothing but respect for your grind it out work ethic, GL, and thanks for the honest stats.

PS. Thanks to you and Adam for the podcast,
    the show rocks.
  15. 0Moneyman0 I've seen you around a lot at the 27's. I play as Nealarm with a shark as my avatar.
  16. I played a few with you the other day too and i see 0money around too. Im beginning a s&g challenge myself starting with these. I have had decent success at s&gs in the past, but seem to be stuck in this. IM only 30 s&gs in, but im down 1 buy in right now. Is it normal to be down 1 buy in after so many? I have never really tracked my s&gs before, so I was just wondering if this was normal. Thanks and GL
  17. On a related note, does anybody have a reference for reliable long-term stats/info on what a reasonable expected ROI could be for these 27 turbos? I've recently started playing them, and my ROI over a couple hundred is about 12 (4-tabling). I've seen some posts on 2+2 about what kind of ROI a good player might expect in regular SNGs, but I haven't seen much that specifically addresses Turbos.

    Thanks

BTW I just finished playing 4 of these with you. Had a great set, 2 wins, 1 2nd, and a bubble.
  18. w00t! It's all about attitude...

  19. I 10-16 tabled the 27s before playing cash games, and have a sample of about 750. Youre stats are solid, but you probably arent running well. In my 750 played(which is still a small sample), I maintainted an roi of 19%. Granted, I studied ICM non stop running hands through sngpt, and was able to make 9/10 +EV pushes(may have been slightly better, and unfortunately cant say the same for calling, maybe making +EV calls 6/10 times). All I can say is keep running your hands through sngpt. Knowing correct push/fold/call is key as the 27s are flooded with 2+2ers like myself. If you are doing all of this, I am sure your stats will go up in the longrun, I believe for anyone 10+ tabling, 17.5% is solid for someone who knows push/fold/call $EV situations well enough. Some advice I can give is:
    1) Make sure you take note of the regulars(like eeznat, jweste, laser16, etc)
    2) Chance are, these guys know you are a multitabler, and will adjust their pushes for you considering you should be playig somewhat tighter.
    3) You should be loosening your calling range for these guys.
    4) Make sure you are shoving a wider range vs these guys.

These simple +$EV plays can add up to 10-20 bucks a session in $EV. Dont miss out on them. gl
