  2. to me you put in 25-30% of your stack so whatever comes on the flop your commited, so why not push it all in before the flop?...your more likely to push out the half hands and only get called by strong hands, you want to be in a heads up pot in that situation, even if they all fold you still get 900+ to play with.
  3. If you push it all in before the flop you will often just win the few chips that are in the pot. Aces are so much better than every other hand in hold em that you must get action on them when you get them. I htink his raise was about right to try to whittle the field down to 1 or 2 opponents, his opponents were simply too stupid to fold.

    I would say you played the hand about right man, but I don't know exactly how those step one tourneys play, so maybe there is a better way. I can't imagine what it is though.
