  1. Just want to get some of the MTT reg's thoughts on this. For a player who is highly profitable at 180s, what is the biggest difference in making the transition to 2000+ field MTTs?

  2. run 11 times + better imo
  3. become more patient and lower your expectations
  4. Stay away!! 2K+ fields are like strippers....they tease you with the land of milk/honey and a pot of gold at the end of the nite...... but really all you are doing is losing $1.00 at a time.
  5. A couple things come to mind:

    1) Variance. With the larger field sizes comes increased variance. You should be prepared for some downswings / non-cashing streaks that are longer than you are used to from the 180s.

    2) Payouts. Even tho stars typically pays the top 15% of the field in the MTTs, most of the money is still stacked up top. Expect to get a bunch of cashes that are like 2x-5x your buyin. However, if you do take one down, its pretty good money and you are allowed to do the snoopy dance for 15 minutes after a win.

    3) Length of time to complete. Some (especially rebuys) can take up to 8 hours to finish (if you do well).

    4) Starting stacks. Some (most?) start with 3000 chips, which gives you more flexibility in the early part of the tournament.

  6. larger field sizes mean a bunch more shitty players, but you gotta run like god.
