Hey all -
I signed up for bodog last night (through p5's of course ;) after hearing about all the poor players. Well that part is true, the low limit cash games are full of stunningly horrendous players... however, I found I don't have a good idea as to how to beat them :P
For instance, on UB I usually look at the player/flop percentages and join a table with a high number. (high number being 40-50% for my micro limits). I look over the list on bodog and the tables have between 40-*85* percent players seeing the flop. "Gold mine", I thunk to myself.
I was at my first table and watched the action for a little while before getting dealt AK utg. I make a 6x BB raise (much higher than normal but I figured it needed to be that large to have any impact judging by how loose the table was). Well I underestimated just how loose, because I got FIVE callers.
Rag rainbow flop, blinds check to me... normally I wouldnt do a continuation bet into half that many players, especially loose ones, but figured I showed a lot of strength pre-flop so maybe I'd have some luck with it. I bet 3/4 pot and get one caller. He hits inside straight on the turn with 37 sooted :P
I think to myself "wow. the one caller I get is willing to pay 3/4 pot on an inside straight draw? this site is going to be easy money."
Unfortunately it didnt get better from there. I did double up at one point betting into a rag board with KK. The guy called me on each card and eventually for everything he had on the river with..... a pair of twos! not even a pair of 2's with a good kicker. a crappy kicker. bottom pair with like a 7 kicker. I'm just sitting there shaking my head wondering whether I should be happy or very scared. From there I lost money at several tables to downright whacky play before I decided to go back to the more sane world of UB for the rest of the night.
Anyway, I burned through most of my bodog bonus dollars and before I dig into the bankroll I figured I'd check to see if anyone had some advice for how to beat these super loose super aggressive players. I've had decent success on UB with .10/.25's and played the same on bodog. I only deposited $100 there so can't realistically try a higher level.
I switched up to what I thought were the obvious changes; don't bluff, no continuation bets, bet stronger with good valued hands. In the end it just seemed like a crap shoot though. People pushing in with junk, people way overbetting good and bad hands, people calling seemingly with no regards for pot odds or any odds at all. Having a couple of these players at a table is a dream come true but a whole table of them is enough to give a guy an ulcer.
also, does anyone who plays there know how to turn off the "table xxx now open" announcements from the dealer without turning off the rest of the dealer text? Along with some occasional very bad lag that was my biggest complaint about the software... and also not having your own seat centered at the table... and also not having easy access to hand history... I guess all in all I'm spoiled by UB's interface...
thanks for the help!

All I can say is....you will take the bad beats for sure...everyone does in a situation like that...but if you continue to bet correctly and don't try anything fancy...eventually the odds will make you get the best of it...there is no way around it...it's simple math......bodog has driven me crazy over the past few weeks...but it's also made me a lot of money...
