I have been playing pokerstars for about 2 years now and during the summer of 05 i had a roll of about $1000 from sit and goes. I withdrew the money for a vacation and proceeded to playing with a roll around 200 for the last 10 months always withdrawing money when it got too high. I never played a sit and go about 10$ 27 man, but i normally play $5 27 mans. I like many others had the crazy thought that losing 10 sit and gos in a row was crazy until the month or march 06 came. I think i lost an estimated 15-20 5$ sit and gos in a row with out cashing. Ib believe I started with bad luck but then realized quickly that my game turned to trash. You guys can bash me for losing 15+ 5 dollars if you want too I like to laugh. I am turning things around now however and I am back to playin right and thinkin no way that could ever happen again. anyone else go through painful streaks like this??
-
Yes, all the time.
-
Only streak I've ever had after cashing out is a losing streak. That's why I'm busted!!
-
It doesn't matter how good you are. These streaks are inevitable. Say you have a 50% ITM. It's only 1024-1 to have a 10-in-a-row losing streak. Id go as far as to say the odds are even worse than that for you due to the fact that people also streak as far as their skill level goes.
-
i must have been having a bad streak since i started playing
-
The worst thing is, you can run much much worse than that

Believe it or not I blew $200 2 tabling the $1.50 trying to "play within my BR" hah! what a joke! I went from about a 100% ROI before the $200 to not cashing for like 10 straight and winning my buy in for like the next 5 out of 15 before I finished it off.

uh perhaps u shouldnt play 1+.50 sngs.... and also if you lose ten straight right in a row, you should probably figure you are not a profitable player. read some books etc.
-
See.... I been waiting for someone to make this post. You have been a P5 member too long to still have that thinking. 10 losses of even 1.50 level is normal for even the most profitable player. I was just wondering how far profitable players have gone with their losing streaks. 10 is nothing to give the game up over.

you dont HAVE to stay exactly within the paramteres that were givin in the bankroll management article etc., those numers are used as standarddd and just recommended, there are plenty of people who do fine playing slightly "higher" then what those guidelines would dictate them play and im sure there are plenty of players who play at a lower level then the guidelines would say to for whatever reason that may be their own reason.
