@#%)@#%( I've got another step 6 ticket, but wtf! I wasnt expecting to play the final table of a major tourney.
Here's some of the choices I have to play with at one table
RainKhan
Choppy
Busto_soon
Timex
stevie444
weeeee, maybe I can get 6th If I try real hard. @#$^#@^
Ya ya ya, I know its supposed to be stiff competition, but jesus, its the best competition. How bout some above average players, not multiple superstars at every step 6.
I think I'll wait until May. -
Just a bunch of high stakes SNG players. Don't be skert. stars created the steps to feed their insatiable appetite for fish.
-
just b/c they are great mtters doesnt mean they are good at sngs. i havent played sngs in a while but the easiest higher buyin sngs are thee ones with the recognizable names in them in my opinion
-
Watch as many of the Step 6s as possible and take notes on peoples pushing / shoving ranges when you hit each of the bubbles. Take note on how the more recognisable names play from different positions, what they are opening with, what they 3 bet and 4 bet with, how loose is their calling range with 5bb / 10bbs / 20bbs etc.
I've been watching the Step 6s for about 2 weeks now, and whilst the guys who play these every day are certainly very good poker players, some of them have leaks which even an average player can capitalise on.
I don't expect to win a seat in one of the SNGs packed with these good players, but I'm going to give myself the best shot possible. -
can be done check my post.
-
Its a sng, just learn to play them correctly. Some of them arent even sng guys and one of them is only good at playing a lot of them but not necessarily well.
-
i won mine on a saturday night... none of the names you listed played ALL NIGHT. the table was probably a lot softer than usual.
-
i had mig.com,innisint,the warden and jorj at my step 6 and it was different but u jus gotta play your game its jus poker dont be scared of they names.
-
i would rather play against good players than retarded people who don't fold ace suited rags
-
dont worry about the competition. if may be an advantage to play against them, being pros they will try making moves when they really shouldn't (considering the short levels and stacks).
i just won my seat with d1rtyr1r3er and busto_soon at my table. d1rty 3-bet another guy with Q10 and ran right into my aces. booyah!!! -
lol im sure most if not all of the pros playing the step 6s understand the stacks and levels
Idk why people would play with 5-6 really good players when there are ones that have like 1-2 at random times that you can jump in. Like I understand that you should just play your game and all that yada yada yada but they are pros because they play a better game. Playing a 9 man sng with 5 pros would be -ev and its as simple as that. -
i lol at all the people using their step 6 tickets right now.
-
should i be saving them ????
-
Yes, all those guys are awesome, just play your game that got you there. dont get too anxious, pick your spots,No sence in waiting ......go play! GL GL GL GL GL GL GL GL GL GL GL

Why would saving step 6 tickets be a good idea?
-
I had the same issues and played around 11 oclock or maybe later. Also, play on Thurs-Fri when most pros take their days off....hope this helps and GL!!! They play tight early anyway.
-
Yes...just be willing to gamble...the only way I made it thru my step 5 was by raising to 600 or so with JJ and then stevie shoving 2500ish with q9o and I held...next hand he shoves 5bb on button and i call with k6o...held....move on to step 6.
