  1. HA tournaments are one of my favorite tournaments. Another tournament I have always enjoyed are the NL Omaha w/ antes turbos that go off on stars. The only problem with HA tournaments are that they can become quite the grind. The average stack usually levels out midway through the tournament and its hard to win chips without winning big pots after the flop.

The reason why PL HA w/ antes is not already a popular game is because the pot is hard to calculate in live poker, so the game hasn't taken off. The game would work great in an online form, however, just like the PL Omaha cash game tables with antes that have become popular. There is no reason why our online HA tournaments shouldn't have antes, imo. And while I'm on the subject, I'd like to suggest NOT returning the PL Hold'em to NL if antes were added. I have found that PL hold'em poker requires you to make tougher decisions than the push and pray strategy in NL that people are better at solving; keeping it PL would make it a more complex game.

Lastly, I would suggest the antes be small and/or have these tournaments be 6-max or 8-max to keep the antes at a reasonable size and not too big.

  3. Shameless bump + slightly edited OP

I've drawn some inspiration from the NL Omaha w/ antes tournaments that go off during turbo nights...
