Hand #37442064-75 Summary:
No rake is taken for this hand.
mind_bender wins 22505 with straight, nine high.
mind bender's stack size was 10k, my stack size was 10k, initial raisers stack size was 4k
i made my raise to committ the inital raiser, so i raise almost the stack size of the raiser so i made it 3.7k and the initial raiser folds and guy behind him calls with 97s
lol? -
I can't make any excuses for the 97s calling, but not knowing the players, I would probably just flat call pre flop so I'm not in a position where I have to bet out in first position as a continuation. If I miss, I can just dump it. Or, if you do feel like reraising, do it for a little less, so you're not as committed if you miss. Reraising to 1/3 of your stack, and then deciding to throw out a continuation bet of 4200 is suicide. Once he calls your raise, I can't put him on anything but AA or KK, what else would he call with and not decide to just push with, looks like he's trapping to me.....oh, I just realized it's a rebuy event, if it was still during the rebuy period, push preflop all in. He'll probably still call you and then at least when the money went in, you had the best hand. If it's after the rebuy period, see above.

Nice bet after you missed. Whatd you think his range was? TJ or KQ? gg
-
It was after the rebuy period, the point of my raise was to commit the original raiser by putting him all in, for he is most likely to call, after the flop im not going to check fold it after riasing to 3.7k, that would be stupid.
-
dude you must not know anything about pot odds.
If your cards are suited, the odds tell you to call 75% of the time. If they they are suited and even remotely connected it is 100% call no matter what the price.

I dont think the original raiser is a he, unless he likes being called azbabygirl.
