  1. Just wanted to let everyone know of a disgraceful act from our beloved Ultimate Bet staff...Today i was messing around on a points table and a friend of mine was also there..There was one nice guy on the table who only had 200 points remaining...Well a hand came down to me, my friend, and the 200 point guy..He bet and i told my friend lets let him have the pot, we felt bad and i really wanted him to be able to get some points...Well one person at the table said "hahaha i just reported you guys for collusion", in which everyone basically told him what an a$$ he was..and we both said it affected nobody else at the table and we were doing it to be nice to this guy...i actually even gave $5 to 3 people at the table just in having fun....eventually the guy took so much abuse from the rest of the players he said "you guys no i didnt report you"...and was being nice me and my friend actually both ended up giving him $5 as well...About an hour later i get an email from UB advising me that due to my very bad behavior with collusion they closed and suspended my account....I got suspended for just doing something nice to a fellow player for collusion , when god knows how much REAL collusion takes place for probably thousands of dollars and nothing is done about it! So in summation F UB and F the loser who decided it was good to report someone for basically giving a guy with lack points , some points for him to be able to continue playing while affecting NOBODY else at the table in the hand in question
  2. this is very bad news. sorry to hear it man. we should start a petition or something to get your account back.
  3. I think this is BS, so many a$$holes playing and they suspend someone who's trying to be a nice guy. Raider, I say your a stand up guy, hopefully UB will resolve this. Hope to see ya at the tables.

  4. LoL I was expecting to see you got in trouble for making deals at the final table earlier. LOL... you got busted for colluding at a POINTS table? WTF is that? Not much different than a play money table!
  5. That's the dumbest thing i've read all day. F UB :-/
  6. "...while affecting NOBODY else at the table in the hand in question"

There's the problem raiderman77. You violated the UB policy of proper collusion. Email them you are very sorry and promise to do better next time in order to advance to the $$$ tables.

While upper management ponders the worthiness of your apology, I will send you my broomstick. Forward it quickly to UB as proof of my demise. No doubt your account will be re-instated and before you know it, you'll be back on those point tables for poker playa schoolin'. If you do well, you may have enough UltimatePoints to redeem and enjoy a Harley by the Labor Day Weekend.

Oops, I almost forgot...they might offer you the UB version of, "Let's Make A Deal." Nevermind, your account needs to be open in order to be automatically seated at the '10 card Monty' table when you first log on...no worries if you accidently leave the table and go to another, they will convert it especially for you.
  7. did they send you a check with your money in the ub acct or is it sitting there?
  8. No they are playing god to my money apparently as well

  9. UB will eff you in the goat ass on stupid stuff like this. I have a good friend (who plays the biggest tournaments every night on UB as well as middle stakes NL) who had a similar meaningless table situation that ended up getting his account locked. They basically stole several hundred dollars from him because he was trying to be a nice guy. They have ultimate control of the money. They basically gave him a decision between giving them the money in question or losing all the money in his account. It was complete CRAP. You would think that UB would want to keep their good, consistent players happy since they need to retain regular players to compete with the other major sites (with way more Players). We calculated the fees that he had paid that year along with a conservative rake estimate to be about $54,000. Not to mention that he has since stepped up to bigger cash game with higher rake which will increase the amount of money he generates for UB. UB needs to do a little 5th grade math.

He was soooo pissed...as was I.

F UB...even though we still play there even more than we did before. (they simply have the best tournament structure)
  10. When I was playing a $10 mini at Paradise when I was first starting, it was down to 4 players, me and another were short, the other 2 had most of the chips. I didn't know the other 3. But just to be jovial, I made the chat to the other short-stack - "hey, we ought to form an alliance". I had no intent at collusion with this remark (it wasn't even on my mind) - but rather making a comment as to the current situation at hand.

They didn't suspend me, but they cut off my chat and it took my begging and apologizing ("for yelling 'fire' in a theater") to get my chat restored.

From then on, I make no comments or actions that have any appearance, however obscure, to anything that might be construed as teaming up. Just not anything worth joking about any more.
  11. wooooooooooooooooooooooow unreal raiderman. i'd be down with signing a petition.

  12. What was the name of the person who emailed you? It wasn't Hector was it? Some of the people who work in customer support lack basic common sense.
  13. Actually not that disgraceful.

I'd expect any reputable site to react similarly to any overt hint of collusion at their tables.

They know that the conspiracy theorists will pounce on anything that can be twisted to look like collusion. Plus, none of us really "know" 99% of the people we play against. There always seems to be a rules mechanic around at times like this.

The only place I've seen where this does not seem to be the case is TEC Freerolls. Those always tend to get messy around the bubble because each table starts rooting for their small stack to survive. I've seen whole tables stall. I've seen whole tables softplay. I've seen 3-4 people gang up on a big stack who's just playing his game and browbeat him into backing off so the little guy can survive. All of it done openly via the ingame chat buffer. With no known adverse consequences.

There are good reasons why some players simply do not chat...at all.

  14. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO RAIDERMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When i get my chat back, i will raise hell for you.

  15. In all due respect Dunce, your scenario is absolutely different from the scenario i presented..In yours of the tec that is affecting many players chances at the reward not only on that table but also other tables as well..In mine it affected nobody else, noone else was in the hand preflop and had no bearing on the remaining players at our table...forgive me if my thinking of collusion at a poker table would be GAINING an advatage for myself or a friend, not in allowing someone i never seen before have some ultimate points....and Yes JS it was Hector

  16. TY Bene appreciate it....I go from from taking 2nd in the afternoon $100(nice quads BRsavage on final hand..ughhh) to not bein able to play ...F UB again

  17. Ahhh, but see, from their POV, it wasn't about a single hand. Your remarks could be construed as a plan for future action. Every subsequent hand would be suspect.

Now, I know, as does everyone here, that you intended no such thing. I watched your FT with BR, and saw you turn down the chop. Not the act of somebody looking to fade the rules.

Ultimately, you're dealing with some min wage, overseas clerk who only knows what the site's stated policy is.

It's a lot tougher to get fired for following policy than it is for ignoring it.

    Dunce
  18. I want to start a petition to get rid of Hector or have him change his ways. That guy really gets me steaming with his complete lack of common sense, tact, and moronic emails.
  19. This makes no sense why they would suspend you...regardless wether its for points or real money...they are you points and you could do with them as you please. You were colluding to help...really makes no sense at all.
  20. You are probably a nice guy, but man you did a stupid thing. Chip dumping and collusion are both against the rules. Throwing hands to another player qualifies. And you really put UB in a bind when you admitted to it in the chat window. You gave them no outs for justifying your actions.

I'd write them a letter apology and explain that I didn't think I was colluding or chip dumping, but that in retrospect I could see that I had made a mistake. I'd ask to have my account reinstated and promise to not make the same mistake again. And then follow through and don't engage in that kind of behavior at the tables again.
  21. Technically, you're right, it was just a points game, and what you did didn't effect anyone else at the table, but I think it makes sense for the site to hold the line on this and adopt a no tolerance policy. Collusion is a serious problem in online poker. It seems a little much to ask for a site to have to investigate whether what you did hurt anyone else at the table or not. You simply cannot play in a way designed to help another player out and you certainly cannot suggest to others that they do so. These sorts of situations naturally lead to unfair collusion that might hurt other players and it makes perfect sense for a site to simply not allow this kind of thing to happen in order to attempt to maintain the integrity of the game.
  22. I would follow any advice that TopazRose offers as she has had much success dealing with Ultimate Bet!
  23. They suspended him because Hector is an idiot.
  24. yes and then u can be mute again bene, because we all know how much you love staying silent. =)

    sweeet_pea
  25. I agree with Puerto Rico Kid. Send an e-mail explaining the circumstances and ask to be reinstated.
  26. well considering i play here everyday, emails were obviously sent explaining my situation...they first suspended me for 2 weeks, then they responded lessoning it to 1 week..still bs in my opinion, at best a warning to me should been issued not suspending a regular player

  27. when ever you get your account back can you dump me some ub points? lol
  28. Something similar happened to me and Hector kept pissing me off more and more with every email reply. I eventually got it escalated to the manager and she reinstated my account immediately and apologized for Hector being an idiot.
  29. Raiderman, I sent an email defending you to UB and got a very favorable response saying "ty for letting us know about this issue and that they will review the information to take appropriate measures". Part of my letter includes the following:

    "I believe that if you
knew the person involved and what an honorable man &
sincerely nice person he is, that you would NOT
    continue his suspension.

Please reconsider this matter, Issue him a warning if
you must, but let this matter die a quick death before
you do yourself more harm than good."

Hope this helps as you personify the spirit of the game and were obviously not trying to cheat or collude.
  30. I agree with you Raiderman. Considering the circumstances and the fact that this was at a points table, I would have hoped they would have sent you a strongly worded warning and maybe revoked your chat for a week as a slap on the hand.

For some reason, though, I am at least heartened to know that UB is looking out for that sort of thing occurring. I have always felt that it would be nearly impossible for UB (or any other site for that matter) to keep a watchful eye on 8-10K players for any signs of impropriety.

I guess UB considers the UB points tables as playing for gain instead of fun.

Lord knows those points are worth SO much. I have over 33,000 and I think I might have enough for one of Antonio Esfandiari's eyebrows soon. Lucky me!
