Is table image even important?

    I always hear people talking about their table image and all this and how it gets people to think they dont have anything or their table image makes people fold. I dont get this, I mean one time this guy had a clown image and made me mad but my question is.

    What is the best table image to have? Like a clown or an animal? I'm just trying to udnerstand why people talk about table image on sites other than stars makes me loool because they dont have table images! Am I off base here or what?

    lol, table image refers to how others perceive you. For example if you're raising a lot of pots then your table image will be that of the aggressor. If you have a tight table image, then you can steal pots with nothing more easily, relying on others perception of you.

    With that said, a clown is the best table image.

    I like the use the image of a boulder. For some reason, when people see it they let me steal pots easier. I'm not sure why though.

    I think table image matters in the higher dollar tournaments and later in tournaments when its close to the money people definitely pay a lot more attention to who is raising and why then. Lower level tournies I dont know if people even look at their cards.
