  1. I just started playing online and made a $50 deposit. Within two weeks I am up to a little over $2000. I've decided to take a shot at the bigger buy ins tonight. Here is my stars schedule:

    18:45 $10 HORSE *OUT* 92/176 $0
    19:00 $10 NLHE ($20,000 Guarantee) *OUT* 1022/2640 $0
    19:15 $10 NLHE 1 Rebuy 1 Add-on *OUT* 42/639 $50
    19:30 $20 PLO8B ($5,000 Guarantee) *OUT* 279/304 $0
    20:00 $3+R ($30,000 Guarantee) *OUT* 1261/2851 $0
    20:00 $25 ($25,000 Guarantee) *OUT* 1029/1481 $0
    21:00 $150 ($100,000 Guarantee) *OUT* 412/912 $0
    21:00 $20+R *OUT* 235/415 $0
    21:30 $55 ($50,000 Guarantee) *OUT* 450/1315 $0

I figure with the rebuys tonight will cost around $500. I know its not good BR management. (25% of my BR). Most of these tournaments I have never played in. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. I will post my results later tonight after I am done playing. I am hoping by creating this thread it will help me focus a little more when playing.

Edit: $20 to whoever guesses closest to how much I cash for in all of these tournaments combined. Your guess needs to be posted before the first tourney begins. Not counting my profit just cashes.
  2. don't played scared
  3. Play half of those, or just play the million or something.
  4. Save your money and dont play the 10R late. Try the 10 cubed or something at 7..
  5. Whats wrong with the $10+R???

  6. I def recommend taking these two:

    21:00 $150 ($100,000 Guarantee)
    21:00 $20+R

    out of your schedule.

why don't you just try satting into the 100k? if you are going to take a shot at a buyin that is almost 10% of your roll, why not single table and get really good reads?

what happens if you get a huge stack early in the 100k and are still in some $10 freezeout? are you really going to want that distracting you?
  7. They made it 10 minute levels. Its a shovefest.. Play it if you want.
  8. I kinda didnt like the start time anyway. I will make the change to my schedule. Thanks for the advice.

Edit: Are you referring to the $10 1 rebuy 1 add-on?

  9. how did you take 50 to 2000 in two weeks?
  10. i thin ku should get rid of the 10r bc its a shove fest, u will be better served to play the 100r and plan on spending at max 200 bucks, it isnt a shove fest and much easier to beat since u donk have donks like the 10r
  11. $800 in tournaments and sit and gos and $1300 or so playing 1/2 and 2/4.

  12. How much experience do you have multi-tabling games of different disciplines? If you get deep in the HORSE or the PLO8, you will pretty much guaranteed fuck up every NLHE tournament you play unless you've done this A LOT.

Since those are two fairly small prize pools, I would drop both of those from your "shot".

  13. I would assume cash, cause he didnt do it in sng's or MTT's according to SS and p5's tracked stuff unless something didnt show up yet ..opr is down..
  14. Oh, and if you're playing 1/2 and 2/4 NL cash games on a 2k bankroll, you're pretty much "taking a shot" every single time you sit at the table.

Unless you're fine with being broke and re-depositing, read the bankroll management articles here (and elsewhere) and slow the hell down.

  15. I dont play a rebuy if I cant afford to rebuy a few times and also addon. I would be playing way to scared to try the $100+r. Hopefully someday I will be able to but not now.

  16. I finished 3rd in a $10 buy for $550 the other night. The majority was cash. I put $50 on a .25/.50 table and left with over $200 and just kept moving up from there.

  17. I read the BR management articles and I know that I was playing above my BR in those games. I got really lucky and had a winning session everytime I have played. I have never played more than 4 tables at once so this may not be the best decision I have ever made. I enjoy HORSE and PLO8 and 9 tables may be a little to much but we will see what happens. Also, after tonight I am going to follow the BR advice with my remaining $1500. I will play no tourneys over $30 and nothing above .50/1 for cash games.

  18. GL man. You seem like you can handle constructive criticism well, you understand that this attempt is in fact out of BR management 101, but still feel like taking a shot. After this is over you seem to be fully prepared to go back to normal BR play. I have no probs with that. You have the ability to listen to suggestions and heed the advice (re: getting out of the 10r shovefest, etc). Think of tonight as a vacation (spending more than you know you should, but feel like having fun (gambling) anyhow.) VWP. GG. GL.

Not sure if that sounds like a positive or negative post?! Meant to be positive.
  19. If you take the shot and play with decent BR management for 1500$ youll be fine. You just cant be taking shots at 1/2 daily though because you will hit a rut and lose some buyins fast, it happens to everyone regardless of how good you are. 1500 is a very solid br to play 50$ under tournies in excluding rebuys. The 10$ 1reb 1 add and 20$ 1reb 1 add are great tournies as well for that size br as well.

Satties are great way to get value out of that size br if you are looking to play bigger tournies, just because they are so soft it isnt funny. In all seriousness tho take your one shot and play within your roll because eventually you might hit a score and your br will shoot up to 5k+ and you can evaluate from there. GL.
  20. i can see you losing alot of money tonight. I wouldnt play the 150 FO if i were you
