I haven't been to the Hard Rock in Tampa in a few months and I noticed that they have new tournaments goin on. Anyone know structure/number of players/quality of players on any of the tournaments now?

I play at the Miami / Hollywood Hard Rock frequently so I assume the structures are similar Typically about 200 players, more when there's a guarantee. (287 last night for a $75 buy-in) The cheaper tournaments ($50, $60, $75 buyin) are pretty quick 4000 starting chips, 25/50 starting, 20min blinds. Sometimes blinds are even 15 min (Satellites). A lot of donkey playing at the beginning The $150 and $300 buyin tournaments are typically more stacked, you start with 9000 (8000+1000 dealer addon) 20 or 25 min blind and you have less donkeying around but people will call down with crap. I did a $1100 buyin this weekend and that was beautiful, 20K starting, 60min blinds, and people actually playing poker and not bingo. A few of the regular tournament players mention having played in Tampa so i'm sure it's pretty similar. hope this helps

not sure about the specs on "new" tournies at Tampa Hard Rock, but in terms of play i would classify them as gamblers. Play is typically weak with many overplayers and calling stations. Most of the crowd are just in there to throw some $$$ around with a few scattered good players. Doesn't take to long at the table to read your players tho. Good luck tho!
