    it looked to me like he was trying to buy with a busted fd or maybe freaked out when he hit riv A.. i know theres a lot of hands that beat me here but i didnt think he would limp 76 and flat til the riv figured if he flopped straight he was prob raising the turn for some value since i was only betting about 1/2 pot.. idk any help is appreciated let me know if this is an easy fold.
  2. 1st off, why couldn't he limp with 76? he flops the nuts so there's no reason for him as you are betting maybe TP, two pair to be scared of a FD. So he'll just call and raise you on the river.

    Other hands that beat you here are 23, a set (88, 55, 44, KK, AA), A8, Ah5h, AhKh..

    Villain could have limped all of these hands.

    Nonetheless it's a pretty tough decision as you're getting 3-1 on your money and investing almost the same amount you've already put in the pot.

    You can also beat some hands here like a suited K or ace who thinks his top or 2nd pair is good. He could be bluffing the ace as he could've missed his FD, but i'll think he'd fold more to save his chips as he hasn't invested too much on the turn.

    Having a big stack with those blinds doesn't make it easier as you can make the call and still have a nice stack to play with.

    It is a board you can bluff at, especially the river, or he could have hit his ace missing a FD;

    I'm not sure if would've folded the hand myself, but with you're stack i prob would have. Maybe you were meant to lose chips there.

    This prob won't help you much but it was a tough one i think. Call and say "nh" :p
  3. Pre I would have raised, at least min, prolly 3BB. K8 is actually my fav hand (never fails to hit), but that's not why. I would have tried to shove out some of the weaker limpers. On the turn I woulda bet 3/4th or so, and on the river I would have shoved. Yeah, I would have lost, but that's the way I would have played it. I'm no poker pro though.

    Umm if he were to limp AA,KK,44,55,88..He def raises flop with the coordinated board. You can rule those hands out of his range. The average player isnt going to limp 76 in mid position so I can see how you ruled it out of his range. To me his hand looks like A8,A5. I think I prob b/c riv. Against a nit I c/c.
  5. i had a similar thought process in this hand, thank you and both of these posts were helpful
