All I ever seem to see win these things are the twenty-somethings. Are their any good online MTT players in their 50's? Is it even possible to become good at MTT's in your 50's?

Lenny, Bax, Sheets...if they aren't 50, they are the oldest online and still pwn the shit outta everyone anyway.
-
It is absolutely possible to become good at poker in your 50's. I just think that fewer pentagenerians give it a go.
-
If they could figure out how to work the computer, they would take all of our money with their 40 years of experience...
-
is Kidrockin considered good? I think hes 50
-
they have an advantage 'cause they aren't embarrassed to take naps.
-
A lot of them prolly think it's stupid to jam j8o with 10bbs bvb.
-
You in your 50s? If you are, go for it man.

You've got accumulated life experience that these kids lack.
Age isn't a barrier to being good at poker, as long as you have the gamble in you!
Study hard & long, play a lot and learn from your mistakes and you can become decent in 12 months.

I'm past my 50's, and make money every year playing low stakes MTT's & SNG's. Ur never too old to learn, and P-5's, Full Tilt Academy, and Poker Xfactor are good places to do it! Good luck at the tables!

Please, please, please, don't figure out that some of us over 50 grinders know this shit cold. Exploiting the young folk with our nitty, old fart images has been extremely profitable in all forms of live action...

Whatever grandpa, go back to folding your AT unopened in the SB ;)

I'm 52 and just recently retired from a real job. a lifetime winning recreational poker player, i decided to dive in full time 3 months ago. so far i've done okay i have a 99.6 opr. on stars. also i gained enough attention at the largest online staking site, to get a long term staking deal, from a large and prestigous fund. you have to adapt quickly to the changes that are continuosly taking place in online tourney poker. i suggest joining a traning site. also a HUD is essential. i use HoldemManager and love it. the biggest problem i think players of our age face is cultural. we are not generally as "computer literate" and we just dont have peers to talk to about our game. reading the posts here helps alot. occasionally i will post a hand for review and comments and always seem to pick up something from the replys. there are some good books available right now that can give you some insight as to how these kids think.
you have to gather the lastest info anyway you can get it. you'll be hard pressed to find many players our age that even understand what is going on with online tourney poker today, much less be able to discuss it with you. also your wife and or family may not ever get on board with it. so your out there on an island man and it can be tough. i started playing stud online in 02 then in late 03 i read Sklanskys book Tournament Poker For Advanced Players and decided to give it a shot. i won the first MTT i played on party. then 3 months later chopped the first one that i played on stars. but boy have things changed since then. for one thing the fields are much bigger but the real diff. is that these kids can play now.it seems at times like it's turned into a game of chicken. but there is method to the madness and learning and understanding that is crucial.Good luck to you and keep and eye out for me..i'm slipping up the ladder rankings here. I have decided to make a serious run at working my way up to the big buy-ins...maybe i can prove there is some hope for us "OLE GUNS" after all. send me a pm sometime if i can help..heck maybe we can even start our own little seniors crew....lol -
Garyak an online member of P5's and a player who is starting to make things click. Just shipped a main event seat and I am pumped to rail him this summer in vegas. Overall just a great guy with a TON of potential. All the love for you Dad gl this year in the main event! I am a super lucky guy to have a Dad that shares the same passion of poker as I do.
