I'm talking about sites such as Absolute, Bodog, WPEX, Ultimate Bet ect... I realize that these sites aren't all small, however they are pretty much dwarfed by PS and FT right? I'm trying to find a site to play on and can't decide what I want to do. I am going to focus 90% on low to mid NL 6 max cash games, 7% SNGs and 3% MTTs. In my other posts I have mentioned that I have played at party and then stars by default...but not sure where to go now maybe I will just stay at Stars. Man I didn't realize how good we had it only a few months ago... From what I can tell many of the posters here appear to some of the best players online so please let me know where you all play...and then I'll join another site lol...

There are some decent rakeback deals available for UB and Absolute (I don't know the particulars about the spam rules otherwise I'd show where I got my accounts). Bodog, I don't know much about as I just set up an account to rail a friend and have never played there.

The low to mid NL cash games at FTP can be pretty tight. Obviously there's a lot of bad players in the NL100 and below, but except friday and saturday the players aren't the "limp 50%+ hands call you down with 3. pair" kind of players. Don't get me wrong, not many will get away from TPTK so the games are beatable, just a bit on the tight side.

STAYYYY AWAY FROM UB on the cash games. There games are harder at every level than other sites. i am not sure if its the bet pot button or what. If you have the roll, and are not scared of some swings they are ok, but it can get old everytime you check they pot it.

Cash games and SNGs at Absolute are okay (at micro levels at least). Their blackjack is rigged though. The interface is bearable and a lot quicker than it used to be. (Not like Mansion, where is it would be faster to email your action.)

WPEX has no rake at all....but extreme lack of players....sometimes very difficult to find the game you want at the limits you want......
-
except the lack of players, what's the downside to playing at WPEX? I mean, why aren't we all playing there if there's no rake!!
-
wpex cash games are pretty soft for nl. their limit games used to be pretty good too, but they kinda dried up. their sng and tourney structure is really bad, although the players are bad too... you cant beat rakefree though, and i think 5 days a week aces never lose, which means theyll reimburse you if you get aces in a cash game and lose. usually more than what you put into the pot too..gl

I actually like WPEX.....the no rake and aces cracked bonus are great.....but there are usually only about 850 players logged into the entire site......WPEX is really an offshoot of the sports betting site WSEX......they give free rake to entice poker players to the site and possibly eventually lose their rolls making sports bets.....I don't think WPEX has spent much money on poker advertising because their bread and butter is sports betting.....if their poker player base started gathering some momentum, it would have a snowball effect and there could be a massive influx of players attracted to the no rake situation.....but I think most new players at WPEX right now get very discouraged at the lack of players and simply go elsewhere......

"Their blackjack is rigged though."
All blackjack is rigged...against you. Its the nature of the game. Stop playing. -
