  2. if he hit flush, he'll likely raise u when u bet....if he hit two pair w/an ace he calls and wins.....if he has only a Jack or queen or worse two pair he's going to find a fold a certain %......i think a bet or check is pretty close to even EV, i have no problem with either, but (im assuming this is $22/32k?) i think this field is relatively soft, i might throw out 300 and fold to any raise, i'm always surprised at how thin value bets can get paid off....but a check behind is totally fine

  3. Well if it were any other spade, I'd say check for sure. He pretty much played it like a weak player with Axs. The limp pre is often broadway and pps, so I'm thinking he probably has KQ, as QJ should be raising the turn. I guess there is a possibility of KQs, but I would also put in a raise on the turn with top pair/king kicker and the second best flush draw. If he flopped a set (777 or 444, cause he'd be crazy not to have raised pre w/JJ, QQ or AA), then he played it terribly by not getting more money in on the flop and turn.

With that said, in the heat of the battle I'm probably checking this, but I'm not sure that is correct. I think you could be fairly confident that he doesn't have a hand that can check/raise you, except for king high flush, so he's probably check/calling you with QJ, KQ, Ax. I'm probably betting around 480 - 530 range here, or just checking.

  4. Thanks for your thoughts.....I ended up checking here....found there wasn't any value gained by betting river...IMO, the worst card fell on river making the K10 a straight, obv spade flush, and some kind of better two pair...I was happy with taking this decent pot for the levels

Actually, I think the As was the best spade card you could possibly see. I can't imagine KT limping pre, betting on flop and just calling the turn, so KT is like hardly ever in his range. Spade flush really could only mean King high simply because I can't imagine anyone playing anything but Axs and Kxs in this manner. As for two pair, what two are you worried about? Only AJ, but most people are not going to play it for a limp preflop, AQ is raising that turn like everytime to find out whether you are on a draw or have the goods. I really think you are safe to bet out here and hope to get value.
