Hey guys. This is my first legitimate post on P5s (member of Cardplayer.com since 2005). This hand came up today at Crown Casino playing 2/5 NLH. A few regulars were there who witnessed it and I'm mainly keen for some feedback/ advice on the hand from people who are familiar with the Crown 2/5 game or from someone who witnessed/ heard about it today. But of course, any comments/ feedback is welcomed?
Ok. Seat 1 (stack of $300) limped, Seat 2 (a stack of $610 limped), Middle position limped ("John"), I limped one from the button with K
J
(my stack size was $1100 at the time), the BTN limped, and the blinds completed.
Flop came K
K
3
. (pot was $30 at this point).
Blinds checked. Seat 1 lead out for $100 (yes I know, massive overbet, although definitely wasn't concerned as he was a visiting European who was just trying to bluff the world whenever he could).
Seat 2 (a seemingly loose/ crazy asian guy who had tried to do an awkward squeeze play preflop where he re-raised a raised pot in the BB for about half his stack. When it got back to the original raiser, the raiser pushed and the crazy asian guy FOLDED, although there was half his stack in the pot) then quickly made it $200. "john" folded and it was now up to me.
Ok ok, so have we ruled out folding as an option? I mean, of course in a raised pot, and if one of the bettors were quite tight it would be feasable, but at the same time, we have $5 invested here. Hmm I might be thinking results orientated here (briefly considered folding as the min raise seemed maybe even like pocket 3s) but anyway, here is what happened:
I reraised to $610 total (to put the raiser all in obviously). The button and the blinds folded. Seat 1 INSTANTLY pushed his remaining $190 odd in. And then Seat 2 tanked for a long time. After much thought, he reluctantly moved his remaining $410 in (this made me feel pretty confident obviously). What hands are we putting Seat 1 and Seat 2 on here? And are we really thinking we're definitely ahead here? Standard play on my behalf?
Any comments thus far would be greatly appreciated? Results will follow soon... -
Insta-push- spades? Tank- K-8 or something? maybe something really screwy like a mid PP. I think there's a very good chance you're ahead, especially against the players you described.

If seat 1 holds Pocket 3s this is an ideal situation for him. Limps and gets to see a cheap flop that he would have hit huge and the only possible hand he is behind is K3 or KK. Seat 2 probably has a very weak K, maybe K7 or something suited, I don't know why he is calling in all honesty, there is nothing he can really be ahead of unless he has KQ or AK, which is unlikely since he tanked. May I ask what endded up having/?

Hazel, from the way the hand played out I thought that the shorter stack would have a flush draw and the guy who tanked would have a weaker King (maybe K9 or something). So on paper your analysis looks correct. However, the Crown 2/5 NL game is prob one of the weirdest (and usually very soft) game there (softer than the 2/3 game there).
So anyway, the turn came an 8 of spades (with the two other players still all in obviously) then the bigger stacked Seat 2 started shouting "spade me!!!" which was even weirder. The river came a blank (2 of diamonds I think) and I began thinking that the short stacked (Seat 1) flushed it and I was going to win the side pot.
So short stacked Euro guy turned up 10 4 both of spades to win a pretty nice main pot, and I confidently flipped up my KJ expecting the profit from the side pot. Seat 2 screamed and jumped into the air as if he had wet himself and tabled KQ (Q of spades which explains the weird "spade me!!").
Hmm I think this was just a standard cooler as it was an unraised pot. Can't really think of getting away from it. Also, was pretty shocked the Asian guy tanked so long and actually thought about folding!! I mean what beats him here!? Did he think I was limping late position with AK? geez...
