  1. Played a 40-man $80 MTT last nite at the local casino. At the time of this hand we've done maybe 2 orbits at the final table. I made the FT as the short stack, but managed triple up on the first hand in the BB. In the hand just prior to this one, I shoved QJs UTG for ~9k with blinds at 1k/2k/300a, no callers.

So now I'm BB, UTG+1 open shoves for ~8k, folded to chip leader in the cutoff, who iso shoves all in with 2nd chip leader yet to act in the SB. Button and SB both fold.

UTG+1 is an older guy who had raised one previous time with no callers, and subsequently talked about folding 88 if he was reraised. Cutoff is younger, but despite being CL, he hadn't been abusing the table in the 20 or so hands at the FT.

There are 9 left, 6 get paid, I have 99 in the BB with about 13k behind, and I'll be SB next hand.

    Reason: corrected remaining chips
  2. insta fold...

Just my preference... I'd rather be shoving than calling with it and you can still make people fold in a live donkament with 5 bb's... I know that's terrible, but it's true...

so snap folding is out of the question?
  5. Nice structure to that tourney! I call and it's a pretty easy one in my opinion.
  6. Doubt I fold but what are the stack sizes of the CL and other players at the table?

  7. only way this might be a fold would be because of ICM implications, purely cEV this should be a pretty easy call vs any 2 players who have a little bit of a clue of what they are doing

taking into account that live players usually suck and arent as wide here as most online players and the fact that its final table close to the money this may or may not be a fold, idk

  8. I would call because 99 is my favorite hand
  9. its a fold in a standard daily live tourney......

Most have no idea about proper shoving ranges so they both prob have a real hand. At the very best you are against 4 over cards and have to fade alot, but you are prob behind anyways.

Sense most live players are not shoving properly they are not calling wide enough either, making a future open shove better than calling off your stack.
