I'm working on a project to take advantage of this goldmine we have here at Pocketfives. Every week we have dozens of great strategy posts, but then they slip off into the archives where very few ever see them again.
I am building a guide to recover these gems so that new users and anyone can go back for easy reference to see what some of the great players on Pocketfives had to say on a variety of subjects.
I have already found a wealth of information and will continue to add to my list, but I also wanted to reach out to the community to see if anyone has any favorite threads they've noted, bookmarked, saved or can remember that they would like to see included. You can post suggestions here or pm me with ideas. If you can find them, please post the link to specific threads.
Here are the types of things we are looking for, with some example threads:
(I have been through the old Q&A/hand advice forum fairly extensively, so if you could suggest threads from the main forum that will be most helpful, thanks!)

i'm too lazy to look for specific posts, but just about anything by aawwnutz was helpful.
the two threads with sheets' hand histories from the big sngs.

It's no coincidence that I finished 5th in the stars 500K right around this time.<A href="http://www.pocketfives.com/0B04F0AE-67F1-4B80-895B-D1A2068C4B87.aspx">

there is a great one by Aawwnutz a while back that has been referenced quite a bit. Great article. Once I donk out of these tourneys I will find it.
-
Articles will be included in this as well, as it will be a place to cross reference all the resources P5s has to offer, but I am specifically looking for threads as they are harder to find.
Thanks for your help on this! -
yes sir
-
Thanks, that's very helpful - if you could post with a short description of the thread that is great!
-
I particularly like tourney recaps and hand analysis posted by Blair Rodman. Here's one in particular:

This is a bit old but about the common mistake to move up in levels to face harder opponents rather then bad beats by poor players. -
hey matt, the step higher can be found in the contributing writers section.
-
i never saw it before but that was the dumbest post ever
-
it certainly wasn't a post like this; that never even gets deleted.:
http://www.pocketfives.com/E66DD19F-...66CD46DB6.aspx -
IT has taken me a total of 4 hours to read all the threads
If all of P5's threads were like these I'm sure I would be FT'ing a lot more often
Lenny's idea is the best I've seen on P5's for the 4 months I've been a member
Funny thing about Sheets sng post is that even big dollar sng's have complete donkeys -
First off, not my idea I'm just the manual labor ; )
secondly, one of the threads posted here and will be included is the "are you playing below your skill level". We often get posts that ask "where does it stop" and "at what level do the players get better?"
The answer is invariably : It doesn't, and there are donkeys at every level. Just watch the WSOP ME and you should realize buy in means nothing ; ) -
****Edit ; )
I have been through the old Q&A/hand advice forum fairly extensively, so if you could suggest threads from the main forum that will be most helpful, thanks! -

This one is really just for Live play I think but it covers the topic "straddling" well. -
http://www.pocketfives.com/D80A3391-...23E842D86.aspx
Here is one that deals with the concept of "luck". Think it drives home the point at the end that everyone needs to have with them to approach the game correctly. -
I love all the posts by Blair Rodman. The one that sticks out most to me is titled:
Continuation Bets
http://www.pocketfives.com/25C9BF84-...DBA3F1DF7.aspx
This was especially helpful to my game as it illustrates how the game constantly evolves and one always needs to consider countermeasures to known accepted techniques. -

This is a interesting article as it has good detailed advice from good players , why NOT to embark on a "Let it ride" strategy to move up fast. -
