I am a dealer and I have NO problem if someone doesnt tip. Its your perogative and you have your reasons. Feeding someone elses family before your own is just irresponsible. With that said, keep your (lack of) tipping opinion to yourself. At the moment, most dealers are making a decent living. There is currently enough recreational players or generous (whatever you want to call them) to keep the pay decent for dealers. I dont see the need for you to advertise why you wont compensate the staff. The more you spread you thoughts on stiffing the dealers then the more the tipping players will stop. When all this happens , well I cant imagine the workforce you will have in the box handling you financial interest with the flip of a card.

And to the D-Bag that thinks all you need is a pulse.......come sit in the box at the game of my choice and lets see how you do.

Dealers generally speaking dont appreciate tips - half the time in cash games they just knock the table and dont say anything, or if they do they mumble it under their breath and wont make eye contact. One time I was joking with a friend about not tipping and the guy started dealing my cards all over the place - half the time the cards wouldnt even reach me - hey dickhead dealers, your jobs can be done by anyone with a pulse, and soon machines will take your place. Theres definitely good dealers out there, not knocking them, Ive just encountered a ton of awful dealers who dont deserve any tip. Regardless people should tip what they want and the dealers should really show more respect for those who decide to tip them

Your rambling should be reduced to "If you do your job correctly, I tip you because I appreciate your service. If you dont appreciate my compensation, then there will be no more."

Your opinion on who is qualified to do the job is childish and just way off. And the machines thing has been tried and failed. Studies have shown that if you play to a computer dealing and you cant sit there in your underwear, then it doesnt work.

Bad service gets 18% ? You want to tip 18% minimum and 30% possibly of a big cash payout? You, my anti scrooge, are completely retarded but I hope you win a big tournament so we can all watch you hand over 30% of your winnings to the dealer. BTW, I tip no more than 20% at a restuarant and that is for good service. Bad service gets 8% or less. Nothing like rewarding a bad server with a generous 18% tip. Maybe I should move to Serbia.
BTW, when I do cash in a tourney and give a big tip, get a receipt as it is a tax write off! Also, the security guys (at least at Commerece) do not get any of the floor/dealer money so if he is helping you to your car or down to the cage, give him something for protecting you.

wow nothing like getting leveled 6 months later... congrats
  6. Played a small tourney at a local casino this weekend
$80 buy in 1st was $691 and 2nd was $346 if I can memeber right we chopped it for $518 and $517 I took 5 $100 bills and left the rest for the dealers
  7. Tip nothing, they're already getting paid for their job.
  8. Do the Roy Winston thing and say FU to the dealers by not tipping at all. (Borgata Open Main Event Winner 2009 or 08 (?).
  9. IMO, It's kinda like going to a restaurant that automatically adds a gratuity to the meal for a party of 8 or more. Service would have to be absolutely top notch for me to add to that tip.

I very rarely tip if they've already taken out x% (standard seems to be 3%) out of the prize pool for dealers. Sometimes I catch flak for it but I really don't care.

I think theres a skill to dealing, but just as much skill to dealing as there is being a manager at a Mcdonalds. If you really think dealing requires more skill than say a Mcdonalds manager I think your way off your rocker
