  1. Hi,

I would like to have your feedback about the ridiculous policy for tips for the dealers in EPT Vienna last week.
My buddy finished in third place in the main event (sthing like 400kish) and they were begging for 3% of his prize.
To be more accurate they protested that players are obliged to give this 3% tip for the dealers as their salary comes out of this tip.
I definitely agree to give tips fo the dealers, but i find this amount crazy.

    Regards,

  2. So they expected him to leave 12k for the dealers? Is this policy? Did they force him to leave a 12K tip? If so thats fked up.
  3. better question is, Why wouldn't he tip $10k-12k on $400k??
  4. This is a pretty standart amount in a live tourney... On the other side i think is a different story when we´re talking about a 10-12k tip...
    I wouldn´t give that away

  5. I'm usually more generous than I need to be with dealers because I worked in the service industry for many years, so I get it. But leaving 10-12K is a pretty big chunk of change imo. I'm by no means saying don't leave anything for them but forcing the players to leave that much is just absurd. I'm sure the casino made a decent amount of money off the tourney and should take care of their own.

Never used to be the standard throughout Europe and they are already taking money out of the pool for the dealers unless I am missing something..

Especially in Europe, they should be ashamed for begging in this situation in my opinion..
  7. So is it standard to tip dealers in europe? seems odd ive never tipped for anything in europe cant see dealers being any different

No, not the standard, but they will never turn you down and will usually appreciate a small token of your appreciation if you feel like contributing.. I have never played in Austria though, but can't imagine this should be any different..
