Final table of the $20 rebuy on full tilt. 11k guaranteed. 7 players left. i have 28k on the button. Chip leader limps under the gun and it is folded to me. blinds are 2k/4k. i have King Queen offsuit. What is the correct play? Without thinking i shoved. I was sitting next to my dad and he stated that he would have just limped. I shoved and got called by chip leader with 77 and they held. i busted in 7th. at the time, i was low stack by about 30k. Can i fold knowing the chip leader is insta calling any hand he has? Or limp and hope for a k or q and take down a small pot? please elaborate?

Limping is out of the question....shove or fold.

thanks diggs...i didnt even think about it and just pushed. afterwards i tried to justify limping and couldnt justify it.
-
that makes a lot of sense. I was positive he wasnt pulling the brunson limp UTG with the nuts. if i just limp i price the small in and might force a squeeze and get the action i want from a weaker hand. I had no regrets when i lost just curious if i could have played it differently.

Your Dad is dead wrong. Show him this thread. And I don't see how you can fold or limp. As it turned out it was a classic coin flip and you were just ul. Congrats on making the final table.

This is a shove 100% of the time. No question.
Send your dad to my home game plz. -
If you don't shove, you are going to be forced to call a shove or fold. How do you like your KQ then?
Always better to give your opponent a tough decision, than let him force you into one.
PS...congrats on the good evening for you with the $28,000 Guarantee final table too. -
With an M of under 4, limping isn't an option for you at all, whatever you hold. Either dump KQ offsuit (not a hand you want to play multi-way) or push it all in there, but don't call off 15% of your stack.
If the limper has such a wide calling range, I'm perfectly happy to shove KQ down his throat when I think I can get it heads-up, and look at all five cards for free as I gamble a bit, in order to build my stack to go after the real money. Who the hell cares about seventh? This ain't the Sunday Million or WSOP! -
I'd be shoving here most of the time. I'm looking for any kind of decent or marginal hand to get it in with. Good shove imo.

Limper is gonna have all sorts of sooted connectors, pp's, ace x hands and donk hands like that and when we are called we are like never dominated and he is gonna fold a % of the time and we just add a bunch of chips to our stack. I'm not saying this is a definate shove but I'm pretty sure it is...

Thanks for the thoughts guys....i was already pretty sure that i had to fold or shove but thanks again.
p.s. My dad was furious when i showed him this thread haha but in his defense he doesnt play anything but $6 heads up games
