Hey there all you poker fiends, guess your all here to read about some interesting spots/hands and what not, so here is a hand that I played in a micro stakes SNG today. I know its not for a great deal of money, but I don't think the situation would differ much from higher buy in SNGs. It would be interesting to find out what people have to say.
Here is the background leading up to this particular hand:
It is 5 handed and on the bubble, I had been raising frequently from early position with a wide range of hands to attack the two chip leaders blinds as they seemed both very conservative on the bubble. None of my hands went to showdown apart from this one. Both the SB and BB are TAGs (tight aggressive), conserving chips even when getting odds to call the shortie's shoves.

On the turn, I was 70% going to fold and 30% going to show him the pile, until my poker player friend said that he always puts it in there (he is a better player than me so I took his advice and called). I was leaning towards a fold because he had been so tight, and I thought that there was not much point in risking the remaining half of my stack if I was beat. i dont know what ICM dictates about this spot, but I think it would dictate a fold. Your thoughts please people, would be much appreciated. -
Shoving is not bad here, hard to get away from will all those unders. You said he was real tight so you know he did not call with a 2, however, on the other hand if he is really tight he would be folding 77 and under and probably calling with 99 and up (but most likely with the higher pps). Since you can only beat 99 and TT there you could fold. Personally I would most likely open shove and pick up the blinds seeing how there are a lot of smaller tight stacks out there and I do not think he would be calling a shove with 88. Just some bad luck on the flop.

Only advice i can give you is DO NOT LISTEN TO EMUFART. today i was playing a tourn i had KK flop is 9 high the action allowed me to put the guy on a set and one King Paulie tells me he gets it in there all day i wanted to fold but alas i listen and turns out he flopped top set and i paid him off. gg KK, bad luck slim JJ.

JJ sucks. Shove pre.

really? open shove with those stacks in front? Thats a massive shove...i mite have to disagree with that play, but I agree with you otherwise

lol I know aye bro what a donk emufart...I was so close to folding, so many think never fold there but you cant always go by the numbers aye...you have to trust your instainct sometimes...
