Shrubbery ??????????????// -
I wouldnt worry to much about Chasemedwn...it's kryber's flat that should make you wanna insta-muck your hand. AK is a nice hand to hold in position here but not facing that wierd action. I hope you mucked or got lucky and squeezed a monster pot. Find a better spot imo.
-
I squeeze and make this a monster pot. I don't care about the EP raise as stated above, and I would more then gladly race getting close to 2:1. Yes, he shows up with AA and KK alot here, but we don't have to give him credit for being a good player and he can show up with AQ as well. We also find ourselves in a 3 way pot with AKd against QQ and JJ or QQ and TT here alot where we are getting our money in GREAT. Yes, sometimes we are dominated and bust, but I think we can win enough when we get this big stack after the squeeze that it makes it +EV.
-
whats the read on kryber?....have him and chasemedown been involved b4?... is kryber a calling station or tight or what?.. this stuff is all important in making ur decision, cause its alot of potential equity.....its either a very good laydown or very bad laydown. i dont like the argument "find a better spot" cause this is potentially a very good spot (if kybers flat isn't a monster like its percieved to be).

If though, i just sat down to the tbl and havent seen any hands whatsoever, i insta fold (given that kybers flat is more often than not indeed a monster) -
I think this is a fold a lotttt more often than most people think.
First of all the UTG 3x has to be scary to us as its often indicative of a big hand that's willing to go to the felt w/ you (TT+ id say).
Second of all that flat is horiffying. That's why your read on this player is really important. Sometimes he's just a moron who's flatting with any 2 suited broadway, and a ton of small-mid pairs, which would lean us towards a shove...
but a lot of the time, if the player is competent, this flat of an utg 3x is KK and AA. It sounds incredibly nitty to muck here but ive seen the flatting KK+ trend grow to a point that it's just absurd and has to be considered at least a legitimate part of the flatter's range. -
I didn't know you were Shrubbery. I made an unsuccessful 3bet against you last night.
Anyway, those kinds of flat calls have been scaring me lately, and I'm someone who is likely to take AK to the bank on most days. I'd really have to fight the urge to make this a huge pot in hopes of going for the win, but that looks like a fold sitting here with time to think about it. -
I will agree with you lpaper that a read on kryber could easily justify a standard squeeze, which in any case I think is a potentially profitable play long run in this spot, but if he at all proved to be a capable player than he's very very likely to be flatting a 6x utg raise with an absolute monster. I would like to hear more responses b/c this situation is definitely an interesting one.
-
Thanks for the replies... I ended up folding and flop came lol Axx but thats being results oriented... utg checked, kryper bet and utg folded
-
oops, im dumb. in that case i lean even more towards folding.
-
push baby. seriously this is a great spot, do u have proof these guys know what they're doing? ur only scared of AA or KK, i'd put it all in the middle.
-
lol at anything but a shove here
-
you are wrong frosty without any read. with that big of raise utg a lot of people will flat call with aa here. id probably still ship but id at least request the time bank
-
lol it's easy to get a read for this hand....the guy makes it 12k which lets you know he's a horrible player, the guy on the button realizes he's horrible and wants to play a pot with him probably with medium pocket pair or AJ-AQ giving you an ez squeeze.....at worst you're facing QQ from the utg raiser and button folds 99% of the time
-
lol at anyone but a retard to flat call on the button with AJ or AQ after a 7.5 raise from utg. and if this is true now one of your outs is gone if idiot utg raiser decides to call with med pair which i assume he will if he makes it 7.5x bb to begin with
-
i wasn't at the table, i can only assume by the UTG's idiot raise that he's been playing badly the whole time and calling on the button with AJ or AQ could easily be understandable if the button wanted to play a little smallball with him (why would he want to rr pre and lose his edge?). maybe UTG hasn't been playing bad and made a wierd raise, like i said i wasn't there but that's what i got from that HH. furthermore, the chances that either of them has AA or KK is extremely low considering you're holding one of the A's and the K's so you're either racing QQ or you pick up 24K + with no showdown.....why would you ever fold? you're not going to find another sick spot like this to get your money in
-
Bottom line is ship get huge stack hopefully then ship the 10k
-
Micdiddy...not sure what your deal is with this comment but this thread isn't for berating another players opinion on a hand. I've played quite a bit with swish and he's no fishcake, I'll tell ya that much. This spot isn't exactly cut and dry with a guy flatting 15%+ of his stack in hopes he will be in position with his marginal holding as you believe.

I agree with Mcdiddy and I am shipping here. Anyone who opens with a 7.5 BB raise obviously has no idea what they are doing. Therefore, it makes the button's flatting range much wider. I think the UTG raiser shows up with 77-JJ most of the time. I also think the button could limp with AJs+ and 88-AA. As mentioned earlier, you are really only afraid of two hands and you are getting great odds to gamble.
One more thing. If the original raiser is stupid enough to raise that big to open the pot, he is probably stupid enough to call your shove with AQ. -
LOL. Everyone saying to insta-fold here prob shouldn't be playing mtts. YOU HAVE TO GAMBLE to win MTTs. You probable will see 99-QQ here but this is a GREAT spot. Ship it to win it baby.
Also, FWIW when you do see the 99-QQ (yes they will occasionally have KK AA, but not often) its not a gamble, it is a VERY plus EV situation. This is a ship almost all day for me. -
LOL @ LIFE. U HAVE AKd, This is the hand you've been waiting for. WTF kinda raise is 7.5x??? If this clown is raising 7.5x with AA/KK then god bless him and gg me. If the flat caller is flat calling a 7.5x raise here with any hand he would shove pre, then god bless him to b/c wtf kinda fishcake wouldn't just ship in AA/KK when UTG opens up for 7.5x raise, obv with no intention to fold. Im ALWAYS shoving here. Not that I like to racing cause i dont win flips, but no way is this not a shove. IMO, its very possible UTG or flat caller have AQ/AJ and are super weak players. Also for future reference, try to have a read on big stacks at your tbl when deep. Short stacks is wtvr, all math bla bla, but def big stacks.

Fuck school/ GMAT's I want to play again, uchhhh
