  1. Pretty early in tourney still, should I still call this river? Advice?

  2. Villain check called your flop and your turn; so he is strong enough so far considering he is in a blind. Now he fires all-in on river which screams strength. He put you on a big pair given the board texture and your bet sizing. At that point in the tourney, you can fold, make notes, and recoop. Folding big hands on river is hard, but it improves ROI longtime.
  3. A big shove like this is either something that beats you (a set, better two pair) or complete air. He has to have air at least 40% of the time for this to be a good call. There's no way this is happening when he calls on a completely dry flop and a fairly innocuous turn.

The more you follow the min-raise philosophy, the more willing you have to be to fold your hand on later streets because you've invited everyone to think they have pot odds to call you pre-flop. In a $5 MTT, I'm raising 3x the BB (plus 1 BB per limper) early, and 2.5x once the antes kick in.

  4. make it bigger on the turn.

prob not folding in a $5 tbh.
