I'm not loving the your raise of his bet on the river. You put a large portion of your stack at risk without a very strong hand.
Anyway, I don't see how you could be winning right now. He must have trips or two pair in this hand. -
First off,The pre flop limp by villain is so strange to me.. There is a decent size pot out there w/ blinds and antes, why play A/K suited in an unraised pot..
Anyways..Not knowing what your opponent has..
preflop..if you're gonna play this hand out of the sm blind,I would raise preflop. by just limping, you really have no idea where you stand, and you're out of position the entire hand.

^^After this sequence of events,You must lay down you're hand.. With his pf limp,I'd be putting him on A/7 suited 7/7 or 4/4..certainly not A/9-.. -
you have to have to raise preflop here.
Make it 1200-1600 to go preflop.
Since you didn't define his hand at all preflop he could have alot of different hands. He also knows you came in cheap and could have anything when he makes this play.
I'm not saying that you could've gotten him to fold. I am saying you'd probably feel better about it if you raised preflop. Also if he reraised you preflop you'd really know where you stand. -
1st I don't mind your limp preflop due to your position in SB. 2nd I would either come out with a bet or check call the flop. 3rd as played I would fold.
-
i think this guy is willing to take a stand against a shorter stack.... looks like you either have the same hand, or he has AJ.
-
1) Raise preflop.
2) As played against EP limper: fold after allin from villain. He has your TPGK beat here.
