Was wondering if you are selling a piece of your action to someone, lets say in $100 buy in tourney do they usually pay $10 for 10% or should they be charged more or less? How about trading a piece of action is it even 10% for 10%?

Backer typically gets half of the percentage of the amount they buy. So if they buy 10.00 (which should be 10.90), they get stakeback first (the first 109 won pays back buyins), and then 5% of any winnings.
A good way to explain this is, if someone backs you for 100%, the player usually gets 50% of profit and backer gets 50% (unless a different % has been worked out. So if they are only going to buy 10%, you and the backer split this part of the tourney 50/50.
Trading a piece in the same tourney should be equal. -
Yea was wondering how buying a piece worked, I always thought buy 10% say you get 10% earnings, but it makes sense only to get 1/2 the earnings after makeup for the buy-in, ty
