  1. I had a very strong feeling when he called the flop that I was up against a set. Should I have check folded the turn? I mean in a micro $3 level does he show up with 66-99 or 5x often enough to make this play?

  2. I think he not only shows up with 66-99 there a lot, but also AJ, AQ, AK, A9, A5, A3, A2, etc as well. Well played, coolered.
  3. chk back turn for pot control
  4. i agree check turn for pot control

but tough spot on river then when he ships allin and j out there as over card to your pair

think i call on river and better luck next time - on flop could have rag ace that made pair / str8 draw possible... his calling range is pretty wide

  5. Yeah I completely agree with all of you. I think checking the turn would have been better pot control but I think the chips were getting in unless a 4 or an A K came on the river. Just wanted to make sure. Thanks!

  6. This is the kind of spot in a $3 that I'm happy to go broke in. Quite often they show up with the most random hands like AQ or who knows what else that they're happy to stack off with. In the higher buyin tourneys I play once in a while or against a good player, I prolly check/fold the turn.
  7. I'm seriously cracking up at the idea of pot control in this hand. On turn the pot contained 1920 and villain held 1825 back. I'm not folding, and not giving villain a free river card. I think it was played fine.
  8. I don't think I check the turn for pot control. If he is floating with AJ+, KQ, K4s or something like that, I don't want to give him a free card. And if he has A5 or 66-88, I don't want another overcard come to scare him from putting all his chips in. I play it exactly as you did.

me too, im def getting it in on the turn in a micro, ul
  10. I agree with the check turn for pot control in most situations but this is a $3 mtt so you want to get your chips in as fast as possible here. Well played. You are going to run into sets now and then...

I agree I'll run into sets now and then. It was just when he checked the flop and snap called my bet.... I knew he had a set. I agree the majority of the time I should get it in here but it was just the strong gut feeling I had about his hand that made me question it.
