  1. *allcaps removed from thread title*

I HAVE A QUESTION FOR THE MOST PART IT IS COMMON SENSE BUT WANT TO HEAR WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK ABOUT THIS.. I HAVE MOSTLY PLAYED REGULAR OVER THE YEARS AND NOW FOR ABOUT 400 GAMES HAVE BEEN PLAYING TURBOS. I HAVE WATCHED ALOT OF VIDEOS FROM SITNGOGRINDERS.COM AND PXF AND LEARNED A GOOD BIT MORE.

OVER 53 GAMES ON FULLTILT I HAVE A 69% ROI

    OVER 159 GAMES I HAVE A 29% ROI

FOR TURBOS I HAVE 400 GAMES AND A -6% ROI WITH 88 PROFIT

MY QUESTION IS I SEE SOME GOOD PLAYERS PLAY BOTH.. NON TURBOS MTTS,SNGS, AND TURBO SNGS.. WHAT WOULD BE THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO.. COULD PLAYING TURBOS MEAN I AM JUST NOT GOOD WITH MAKING GOOD PUSH/FOLD DECISIONS. I FEEL I TEND TO PLAY TIGHTER WITH NONS OF COURSE CAUSE I HAVE MORE TIME TO PICK MY HANDS.. I KNOW THIS ALL SEEMS COMMON SENSE. BUT ALL ADVISE WOULD BE GREAT.. THANKS
  2. FOR FUCKS SAKE TURN OFF THE CAPSLOCK, MY EYES ARE BURNING btw, Turbos have a mad swing rate.

you have to be very disiplined in turbos and be able to pick on the table dynamics very well. most times you aren't gonna double up early and have a big stack to sit back with (and abuse with ofcourse). you're gonna get down to around 10 bbs with five or six players alot and are gonna have to 1) know push/fold real well and 2) be able to adjust those ranges as you sit fit based of how others are playing.

my advice to you would be to stick to the $5 and $6 turbo SNGs with your 900 roll. sure, this is being a bankroll nit, but I found when I got to that point stepping up and playing the $10 buyins was too much too handle, not poker wise, but dealing with the downswings. lose 10 buyins thats a decent amount of your roll and if that pisses you off soon you'll be making more mistakes.

It can if you let it. You have to play a different style in turbos vs. regulars. If you can't separate those styles and you let the turbo style bleed into your regular play, then yes, it will negatively affect your non-turbo playing.
  6. thanks alot for the advise

  7. i grind the $30 9man superturbos on fulltilt, 16tabling, and maintain a 3-5% ROI (not sure exactly because i only have the free sharkscope access), and the key is to just keep playing and gather a sample size of at least 2000 games. obv more for supturbos but in regards to ur question. if u have rakeback on fulltilt then the superturbos might be a good solution since for mei make $0.54/game from rakeback. I probably wouldnt grind them without rakeback, just my opinion. But definitely play at least a few 1000 b4 u decide whats for u

Hmm, now that you bring it up, taking an honest look at my play, DEFINITELY! I play mostly 6-max Turbo SnG's which more or less constantly require you to be in a pot with less than premium hands or you'll get blinded out very quickly. At times when I decide to play cash games, I still find myself in this uber-aggro mode and manage to lose my money rather quickly. There is a big difference between various games, so just make sure you adjust accordingly and I'll try to do the same from now on. In a way I have to thank you for bringing this up, so thanks!
