I've been noticing that whenever people talk about the turbo tourneys that are new on UB all I hear is "you have to be lucky to win at those" "it takes all the skill out of it".
I find this to be an excuse by people who can't adjust to fast rising blinds and fast play. I personally find the new "normal" tourneys on UB to simply move at such a slow pace that I once just clicked on sit out, went and took a bath, came back and it was down to 5 players with me hardly touched at all in chips. Moving at that pathetically slow pace does favor paitence and skill, but it takes FOREVER to play a stinkin single table sit and go.
If you can't beat the turbo's then IMO you are simply lacking skills that it takes to beat a faster moving game. I seem to have know problem with them.
I could be complketely whacked here, but I doughbt it. -
Just my 2 cents, I really REALLY hate turbo tourneys and I would never play them if I didnt have to..unfortunatly, sometimes they are the only way to qualify for bigger tourneys..thats why some might play them and still complaine (like me..haha)

Turbos do have a luck factor like any other tournament does. You can't win a tournament without winning a few 50/50 preflop races and maybe getting lucky here and there on other hands. Now the blinds move quicker, so you basically need to catch hands and get lucky at the right times in turbos. You do have to play quicker and not be as patient as you might be in a regular tournamnet as well. But there is also an element of skill involved, it's not total luck.
IMO I don't ever play in these seriously, I have before in the lower rebuys just for fun mostly making some plays I wouldn't normally in any tournament I really cared about. If anything, play them for the entertainment, try your best and maybe you'll come out with some $. -
I dont take baths

Shorter blind periods equal more luck, less skill. Bigger jumps in blind levels equal more luck, less skill. Both toghether equal crap shoot. Simple. Don't like'em don't play'em.

the fish will still make some sort of goofball play weather its hand 5 or hand 33. if you get to the all in fest point with them you are very very cold carded of you are the fish.
