  1. First two say,im mainly a limit player, haveing played and one a few small nl tournaments,in the past decided to invest more time in trying to play these small tournaments.I play at the sandia in alburqureque, the events that are here are 2000 chips with the blinds moving up every 30 minutes,i bought the volume 1 to give me some insight on how to really get a better knowledge on how some players think,Most of these players do play these every week, and seem to be serious about there game, but with just a 40 dollar investment, how serious can they be.1.Will this book take me to the promise land, seeing that most of these examples are in satellites, and on line tournys?2.How and how would your play be in these, considering around 100 players. thanks marco
  2. Vol. 1 will help you some. Vol. 2 will be your savior. Knowing how to play in those regular casino tournaments where the blinds get huge a couple hours into it is all about understanding what to do when you get short. HoH 2 is the bible of short-stack play.

  3. The cool thing about Harrington On Hold'em is he takes you through many different situations that help to train your mind to anylize and adapt to those different situations. I think you can take the info in the book and apply it to almost any NL situation.
  4. All 3 volumes are very well-written. If you have played a whole lot, or even more than just a little, Harrington clearly explains situations and styles that have sifted through your mind, but never have fully materialized as a rational "way to go". It is very interesting, and a slap to the forehead for people who haven't read poker books before, but have played lots....

grapsfan is right about #2....It's the best one. #3 is pretty good as well, but a complete understanding of #2 will greatly improve your game
  5. I have misplaced my VOL 2...I suck :(
  6. YOU WON A TOURNAMENT NOT ONE A TOURNAMENT.....u may have won one tournament....lol

volume 3 is pretty good too....

if you want a really good book on reading individuals "read em and reap" is a good book....it has a 70/30 rule.....70 pecent of playing poker is reading your oppentent (making plays at pots, reading situations right, and repoping in the right sitituations) and 30 percent reading your cards.....

GL in these events try to accumulate chips early and then chip away....
