Thought I'd give one of these a go. Here's the type of players I ran into. Side note the guy I'm involved with has shown down some sad looking hands. Including a reraise all in with third best. I had been playing fairly tight up to this point. I like these guys rational....I hear the 11's-180 are similar?

loooooooooolllz and they always gotta speak up in the end to make them look even more stupid
-
No idea, but you should just showed down the AJ on the river if you knew he'd call you with anything. There was ABSOLUTELY no value in betting that river at all. Obv he wasn't competent enough to give you credit for the Q, so you need to realized that and save your 1200. You need to accept your responsibility there too.
-
yes you are correct.. and looking back I donked off too many chips. I just let my ego get in the way. Lesson learned....have a hand when you play these type players!
-
$4 180's are brutal, they attrack $1 SnG players trying to make a big score. You cannot bluff except on the bubble and once your down to 2 tables. The upside is that they will call all in with top pair on a 3 flushed or 3 st8ed flop, if you put them all in. They think every other big bet is a bluff.
They arent' going to think through the hand like you will. It's final table WSOP to them. ie... you raise preflop, check a 2 flush board, check the 3rd flush on the turn and check raise your opponent's bet, He's hanging on to the T with his Ace kicker for all his chips. You can't bluff them off a pair. I just lay low, usually get SS and manage to double up 2 or three times with the near nutz, they will pay off... It's low risk high reward preflop bets and calls til the blinds hit 150, then go to work.
"Adam" has a great post on SnG's that works great for the $4/180, you have to have disipline, but you don't get busted out on as many bad beats using it, once th blinds hit $150.
And remember, you can't bluff a fish with 2nd pair. -
Yep. Every single player who plays 4.40's are horrible. Every single one of them.. LOL
-
con't: once the blinds hit $150 loosen little but not much

i rarely click on posts like this cuz i just assume its a bad beat, but since i did take the time to read this im gonna give u my thoughts on this hand.
first off, i expected a much worse beat than this....and trust me i know there are mannnnny bad players out there but i dont think this hand is that bad at all. Hes a big stack inthe bb. nothing wrong with calling 400 from the bb with low suited cards. he figures he flops the best hand and he check calls, nothing wrong with that and if i had been in his situation i think i might have done the exact same thing. on the turn u both do the right thing, but on the river while he makes the right check call, i believe you played it poorly and bet the river.
trust me i know there are really bad players out there, but i think ther was nothing wrong with his play here
