    He is a cockroach.
    and i mean this in the most complimentary way.
    I sat at his table tonight in the 200k for over 3 hours.
    I got bumped out on the bubble, about 15 away from the money, and at the time i had an above avg stack of 13k.
    WHen i departed Nole had about 8k. He was down below 2k several times when avg stack was 5k and up. at one point i thought he was going because he was down to 800 chips with avg about 5500. But he survived. He folded the blinds when he didnt have a hand or was raised, he didnt defend (ever from what i saw...and i mean EVER)...and he won every race. his QQ always won. his 99 always won, his Ax hit vs the other guys pair.
    He also seemed to get out of the way of a lot of bad situations....i could tell when he had a medium pair and was reraised he was trying to figure it out, and normally folded....and probably rightly so.
    Bottom line, the guy survives and manages to make the most out of his good hands....and, unlike some of us (me included) doesnt throw everything in the pot when he gets low to hope to double up fast. Congrats and gl rest of way at party tonight
    BTW: Anna K did me in...Nole says he would make same call, but im thinking he either would have folded, or his would have connected where mine swung and miss, (raise, i reraise, hes all in....im getting 2.2-1 on my AK to call....if i fold i struggle back and def make bubble...if i connect im top 20 in chips....i just cant bring myself to fold to 2.2-1 pot odds when i am very confident i at least haeva coin flip (my read and math were right, but i couldnt connect and busted)

    Luckily for me, i was on his right 1 off, so every time he was BB i was on the button...i dont want to get a HH of the tourney to see how many times i took his blind, but i did so only with hands i was prepared to call his much smaller all in with (promise!)

    You know who also is a cockroach, 'Purr of Aces'. The guy never has any chips when I see him, but he always manages to hang around and let people pick eachother off at a ft and climb up the $$ ladder.

    Nice post guys. There is something to be said about surviving and not giving up until your actually out of a tourney as opposed to short stacked. Especially after a crippling loss its easy to just say F it and go all-in with any Ace high hand, but the 2 guys that are mentioned in these posts are big money makers and as such we can all learn something from them....

    All kidding aside, SamENole, you are the sickest I've seen. Is that 3 or 4 tournies the last 48 hours? I think we soon will see a new #1 in the rankings... no offense, Mr. Bax.

    Great point, you went in this hand with the lead your 10-3 didn't really "crack" kk, The difference between SAMENOLE and others is he is amazing at knowing when he is beat and probably could get away from this hand with kk, most other could not

    Where did you get the idea I was "hating"? I think the guy is brilliant and with the 10-3 it was just an extremely fortunate flop... There was no way the guy was getting off his Kings, so there is an easy double up for SamE. Never said anything about how he was the luckiest guy on earth, I think he's a brilliant poker mind and definately deserves to be ranked top 2. -Sok

    same and purr were cockroaches yesterday. In every mtt I was in with them, they just won every all in with every ragged ace and pair and coinflip. Running that good=unreal. Purr=overrated also. Samnole=not overrated.

    Not like I did not run pretty well myself, though
