UB Aruba Classic: Saturday September 27th - October 4th
pokerstars WCOOP ME: PROBABLY Sunday September 28th.
Obviously the date for the WCOOP ME isn't set yet, but it is almost guaranteed that it will fall on the last Sunday in September, as it usually does.
The past year the WCOOP ME was close enough that most people missed the UB Welcome party in Aruba to play in the WCOOP ME.
Last year, someone was HU in FTP 750k when the internet went down in Aruba, since internet is less stable on islands, and ended up blinding out to lose HU.
Basically, Many online players would rather play the WCOOP ME at home instead of in Aruba, with stable internet. Also, I don't know exactly when the Aruba tournament starts, but for all we know it could start on that sunday, which directly conflicts with the biggest online tournament of the year.
So... What should happen? Either UB moves aruba back 1 week, to the start of October... or PokerStars starts WCOOP Earlier.
I think it's best if UB moves Aruba back 1 week.
thoughts?

While I agree with what you're saying (I've skipped the last 2 WCOOP ME's due to the shoddy internet in Aruba), changing it for this year is way too impractical to consider. You have to realize the resort is booked by UB a year in advance and satellites have already started running. I can say that I've already bought my seat for this year and booked my trip for the week, and I'm not the only one. It's way too impractical to ask people like me to change their schedule around just so the event would sync up with an online tourney. In other words: the only way this will be changed for 2008 is if stars books the WCOOP ME a week later.
