I recently won an a late night $25k guar. on UB (ef $215) and took down $7290 for 1st pl. However, I later found out that UB had removed $1900 from my account and forwarded the money to my opponet. To make a long story short: UB claimed that my opponet (kmitch24) and I agreed to a deal (which is false), and so UB had duly transferred $1900 from my account to my opoponet's.
UB never addressed the issue with me, even though I talked to one represenative on the phone and received several generic emails; in short UB's answer to me was that they decided to give my opponet a deal, and so they took money from my account and xferred it to him. Curiously, I have yet to hear any response from UB after I emailed them a short snippet I found UB's website, rule 6:
"UltimateBet.com does not sanction, facillate, or enforce deals. If you make a deal you are doing so at your own risk and deal making is not allowed in the chat box at the table. Prize pools are awarded according to the prize pool payout listed within the tournament information page for that event. Deals are not enforced by the cardroom. "
I am left wondering how could this be true? I just won a tournament, and then BIG BROTHER decided that they would enforce a bogus deal that directly clashes with their very own house rules! The whole situation leaves me sick in the stomach. -
Ask them for the entire chat history at the FT.

There was a thread about a week ago when a player stated that he had chopped the money with a player but was stiffed by the player taking first. He typed gg and immediately logged off!! All in last hand was AK vs AT if I remember correctly. This doesnt happen to be you does it?
-
ya, this is that guy
I'm curious how this will play out -
Sound Familiar???? From Kmitch about a week ago! Please explain!!!
I was playing the 9:30 UB $200 15 on Tues. night when it got down to myself and a player named "michaeleahci" (pocketfives handle "FLEXnash") heads up at the FT. He immediately wanted to make a deal, and since I had a chip lead of about 190k to 145k when negotiations started, we, after much debate, agreed on me getting $6100 to his $5510. The biggest sticking point was that he wanted credit for the "win" so that he would look better on pocketfives, and I, not caring about that, agreed against my better judgment. He seemed like a standup guy, and was adamant that he wouldn't screw me over. Well, almost immediately upon my agreeing to the deal, he pushed all in. Since UB won't let you chat when a player is all in, I didn't know what he wanted me to do, so I finally just called his all in with A10 (not that it matters, but had there been no deal in place I obviously would not have called his push for 30x BB with A10), with the thinking that I was probably dominated (I was-- he had AK and it held), but that if I happened to suckout I would just transfer to him what he was owed and he'd have to live without the glory of a "win". Well, that hand left me crippled, and the tourney ended the next hand when I called off my remaining chips on rags and his hand held. He said "gg" and left the table and immediately logged out. I never told him my name in order to transfer funds, and he's been logged out ever since. Now, hopefully this is just an oversight on his part, but I'm getting the feeling that he has no intention of paying me the $1700 or so that he owes me, and I have a feeling that it's because he thinks that I was trying to win because I called with A10 (it would have looked a bit more like I was trying to lose if I had called with 72 or something). I don't know if you guys have access to the chat logs, but if you look, you can clearly see that, after much back and forth between us over the course of about 10 min., the last chat that he said was "so, do we have a deal?", and I replied "y, i guess so". Immediately after I typed that in, he pushed in, and I was left wondering what he wanted me to do with my hand. I contacted UB, and of course they said that they don't get involved. Other sites let you stop play in order to discuss deals and will even chop the pot up for you so that you don't have to rely on the word of some guy you've never met before to send you money. Bottom line is that I should've just gone with my gut and said "no deals" and taken him down the regular way, but since he seemed honest and seemed really concerned with his p5 ranking and I wanted to go to bed, I agreed. Please tell me, one of you guys, that there is something that can be done since UB won't do it. I played sick poker for six hours, took down 2nd place money, and yet I'm on life tilt because of how this all went down. -
Why would he think you had a deal? And why would UB think you had a deal? I mean, you must have chatted about it. UB must have thought whatever was said constituted a deal. What did you say to this guy? There has to be more to the story.
edit: didn't see the last post when i wrote this. -
Sounds like you tried to make a deal then run off the first place money. You will get some serious heat for this.
-
UB can show you the chat history,,,ask for it
-
Ok...whether you made the deal or not...UB had no right transfering money from your account to to kmitch as stated in their rules...
I know it's completely unethical and you actually got what you deserved for screwing someone (if in fact you did agree to a deal)...but it's about the principle of UB completely going against their own rules... -
yes,
UB emailed me the chat history. It clearly shows that my opponet and I were negotiating, while still continuing to play a few hands. During this negotiating process, I pushed allin and my opponet subsequently called. I won that big hand, and our deal negotiations ceased (as I now had 90% of all chips). The match ended after 3 or 4 more hands. -
Show us the chat log. Otherwise im glad your money was taken. Making a deal and then backing out of it when u won. Pathetic. If u actually did this, i wish u would be banned from the site. IF this is all false then please i implore you to post the chat log. if im wrong i apologize

Below is the 2nd half of the chat. Basically, Kmitch24 and michaeleahci (that's me, FLEXnash) were trying to make a deal, or chop 1st and 2nd. I wanted to finsih 1st officially for the points on P5s and so I offered Kmitch24 some extra dough in exchange for 1st. He seemed to want to make a deal, but was worried about getting the money (if he allowed me to take 1st). Anyway, we played several hands at a slow pace and basically I proposed some specific cash figures and Kmitch24 basically declined while still agreeing to negotiate. I should reiterate that we continued to play the hands out because no specifici deal had been acknowledged.
The chat that appears below is the end of our match. On the big hand where I have AK and kmitch24 calls allin w/ A10, some explanation is in order. Kmitch raises to 15k and I ask 'deal'? as I have asked several times previously. This time, I am referring to a 50/50 chop, as I recently evened out the stack sizes (apparently Kmitch24 still believes that I was offering a 55/45 chop; just more evidence that we had no specific deal in mind up to this point). I look down at AK and wait for his response; he doesnt respond, so I push allin, fully expecting him to fold and for us to talk specifics of a deal on the next hand. His response 'y, i guess so' was sent basically at the same time that i pushed allin (such that i recall pushing allin before he even responded).
Kmitch24 calling my allin bet was essentially his declining any deal. Kmitch24 knows he shouldnt have called my allin bet because, if he were to win that race, then he would have fiinished 1st officially and therefore not fulfilled his side of a proposed deal (remember this was the main point in my proposing we make a deal). His call was therefore his decision to finish the match off by 'playing it out'.
This is the main point which I want to emphasize: Kmitch24 and I had been negotiating while still continuing to play; his decision to make an allin call that would effectively decide the winner of the match was his prerogative. If he truly wanted a deal, then it would have been simple and easy to fold and to later finalize a deal at the slow pace with which we were playing the match.
There is no more chat after that big hand, because I had nothing to say, and apparently niether did Kmitch24. If he were expecting a deal, he should surely have continued to chat. He claims that b/c someone was allin that chat was disabled; however chat was available to him in the final few hands when it was his option to first call/raise/fold.

line 199 - deal?
line 200 - y, I guess
This consitutes a deal. I do not see how you can say it does not. You asked if it was a deal, and he responded with a yes. That is a deal in my book. -
u can eat a dick man. im glad UB did this. U agreed to a deal and then backed out. You are pathetic. i wish you would get banned from the site. Once i did this on UB. i agreed to an even chop. I got 10k and the other guy got 6k. the thing is though i actually transfered him the 2k because i got class and u dont. eat a dick. go ub
-
Weak sauce... on your part. VWP UB.
-
How does the chat vindicate you? As far as I can tell you made a deal.
Should UB have gotten involved? Maybe not, but you should have honored the deal. Honestly, you aren't going to get any sympathy for this. Justice was served. -
What a scumbag! VNH UB! Props to UB for this!!
-
this is funnier than all off topic posts combined. u bitch about getting screwed by UB, then u post a self incriminating HH. that is classic.

Unreal you came here crying... -
I honestly cannot believe that you just posted a chat history that shows the other guy was right. Unbelieveable to me. I can't fathom it.
-
looks like he agreed to a deal

*****Edit this was written prior to his added comments*****
Know what I find most interesting about this whole situation...
1) FLEXnash was so concerned about his p5 rankings that he wanted to assure himself of a "win." They discuss this in a deal and then consumate the deal in chat.
2) As soon as the deal is consumated with a response of "y, I guess." FLEXnash goes all in.
3) If your real concern was about where your p5 TLB pts were, you seem to have done a good job of causing others and myself to lose quite a bit of respect for your actions in this particular situation.
4) All people make mistakes and NONE of us are perfect by any means, I know this to be a truth.
I believe that you should re-evaluate your actions in this situation. I understand that you believe that you did not make a deal; so, I am interested in your interpretaion of why there was no deal.
5) I believe that UB did the right thing here by the other player as he agreed to a deal in chat. Please ignore some of the flames and look for a way to improve yourself as a person for the years that you still have left live. I take a very sour opinion of people whom renig on business deals.
6) I just wish that some of the really negative comments could come with some positive advice for the person whom has made a mistake. If we as a people cannot grow from our mistakes, we will never become the people whom we can be, sappy, yes I know, but we need to be more supportive of a community and less negative sometimes.

done deal. pleade the 5th next time -
LMAO. This might be the best post ever. Way to show what a douchebag you are. Talk someone into a deal it is very obvious he is not comfortable with, dick him over after and then come on here to bitch and complain that a site did the right thing in not letting dicks like you take advantage of the rule you are now trying to hide behind. Maybe I will actually start playing UB again. Maybe you and Booya can play HU for 5k.
And for 2007 Presto Douchebag of the Year...... -
no flamin here jester. everthing u just said is right on.
nice reply -
Why do two people smart enough to ft a big tournament like this lack common sense?
1) For a serious deal like this why not type something more clear like ,"I accept the deal" rather than "y, i guess".
2) If you are negotiating, or think you have a deal why not make it clear rather than pushing all in?
3) If you just made a deal where you will let the other person win, how does being confused and calling an all in complete your side of the deal? Shouldn't you just fold and sit out?
I find 2 and 3 most troubling. The "y i guess" is clear enough so that he should respond rather than pushing with AK. BUT The condidiotn of the deal was to let his opponent win. By calling with the AT he botched the deal in my eyes. Had it sucked out, he would have won and the deal would have been totally screwed. Just because he didn't doesn't mean he held his side of the deal. I believe it was an honest mistake but still...
