But the best thing about it was that it filled many of the holes within ur daily MTT schedule. Times when I busted my tourneys and would normally log off or take a break, I stayed and kept registering cuz I knew another playable tourney would be starting on the hour every hour. Surely this can't be hard to duplicate. Even if it's not part of a promo, throwing in a $10 3K Guaranteed tourney every hour is an easy way to fill in some of the holes in your schedule, and they will for sure get the players needed.

Thanks for your help, from myself and all UB regs.

  4. Oh yea and can we get a "Save Table Layout" function already like every other site in history?

    Pretty please.
  5. Functional mac software one time? Probably too much to ask
  6. Hey Adrienne! Welcome aboard!!! I for one am ecstatic that you are here!

I don't want to overload you with everything at once, nor do I have expectations that everything is going to be addressed right away and handled at "our" pace. I think going into it I am more concerned with establishing communication and just having progress rather than looking for perfection from you all.

I have a lot coming your way, but I will give you time to get adjusted with the community rather than overwhelming you with everything at first. I guess my first question is do you see any value in having something like an "Official UB Grinder/reg's" thread? This would be different from the mainstream stuff that you will get about the site, and more geared towards just having communication with your reg's. I think if we could put something together like this and have regular communication with you on a regular basis it would accomplish a couple of things. I think it would strengthen the UB community and pull them together a bit, and also allow you all to see how we think and what the real chatter is amongst us (reg's). I don't truly know how much value there is in this because I don't know how big of a UB community we have here at PK5's. It may not be something that takes off right away, but I think if reg's see enough communication from you all in this regards, it might pull those folks in that are just lurking and/or have had reservations in the past about posting.

I also hope that you guys are not only reaching out here on PK5's, but other forum communities as well.

I have left the major topics out for now and will address them as we move forward. If you are just looking for a list of enhancements or suggestions in this thread for now:

    * Definitely, definitely, definitely, need a save table lay out!

    * Fix timers - currently you have so that you have your regular time to act and then your extended time. If your regular time expires, it automatically switches over to your extended time. You are one of the only sites that I am aware does it this way. All other sites, you click a button to access your extended time, and if you don't click on it, it automatically folds your hand when the regular clock runs out. The nice thing about this is your extended clock is saved for when you really need it! With your current method, if I don't make it back from a break in time (or any other reason you can come up with) when it is my turn to act in a hand, it will go into the extended time clock, burn all of it up, and then I don't have it for when I really need it. There are hundreds of reasons why you end up losing your extended clock time and not having it for when you need it. Please fix it so that you have a button to use to access your extended clock time.

    * Have it so you are "automatically" sat at your table when a tourney starts rather than have a popup telling you that a tourney is starting, and it won't seat you till you click OK. I can't tell you how many times this popup window has popped up behind another application I am running and I never saw it. I have come into so many tourneys very late because of this function alone. When you are multitabling and scheduling for the rest of the day, you are not going to pay attention to exactly when every tourney is starting. If it sits me automatically at the table, I will never have a late start again. There is no reason for this function, and again, you guys are one of the only ones that I am aware does this.

    * Please show payouts in tournament window "<span>prior</span>" to the start of a tournament. Again, you guys are one of the only sites that you can't see prize distribution stuff prior to the start of a tournament.

    * Fix the rebuy buttons and ability to rebuy when tourney is first starting. There is something off on the timing of them when you first start a tourney if you don't do your rebuy in the very first few seconds the clock is running to do an addon, your addon doesn't get applied to your first hand of the tournament, even though you did an addon in the proper time allocated. This applies to all functions of adding on or rebuy....the clocks and your actions are not real time so you are constantly fighting it more than it being a smooth transactions. Everything associated to rebuying needs to be real time and not all on delays. It's very frustrating constantly fighting the functionality of this stuff during tourneys. If I click on rebuy it should be "instant" and applied period.

    * Tie in the "fold to any bet" and "fold" buttons so these are also live. If I click on it at any point, it will automatically fold my hand. If the action gets to me, and it is physically my turn to act, and I click on one of these buttons, it does nothing and sits there waiting for me to act and click on the actual fold button, rather than being able to use these radials. They should all be tied together and all act the same when when the action comes to me. I should be able to click on "any" of the radial buttons like "fold to any bet" and it should have the same exact function and the regular fold button.

    * Please, please, please have your team work on a Hand Replayer instead of having to read hand histories. All the major sites have awesome hand replayers now...you guys should be getting on board with this as well.

    * Notes need a lot of work, and I am sure you hear enough about this. They "at the least" need to be color coded already. You guys released one a couple of months ago, and then pulled it back. What are we waiting on? Not only make them color coded, but make them available to see on a player in a tournament lobby, not just on the table.

    * Have the ability to combine tournament dollars with cash when you don't have much in tourney dollars left to register for tourneys. Currently you can only register if you have enough in buyin in tourney dollars "or" cash, but you can't combine them.

    * Offer the ability to use UB points for training sites.

    * You guys are one of the only sites I know of that you "can't" unregister to a MTT 10 minutes prior to the start of a tourney. This one makes absolutely no sense at all and leaves players feeling trapped. I can't tell you how many tourneys I registered for in a rush because I was multitabling and trying to register for tourneys in a rush. Many times I have "accidentally" registered for the wrong tourney or a satellite I made the mistake thinking was a regular MTT while in a rush and forced to play in now because I can't unregister 10 minutes prior to the start of things. You are the only site that does this that I am aware of and it doesn't make any sense at all. Forcing someone to play in something because of an "accident" is the wrong way to go.

    * Get real pros on the site....I mean Tiffany Michelle?? Do I need to say anything else?!?!?

    * What, if any, are the plans to make your software real time?

That's just my two cents on the easier stuff...I will post more as the time is appropriate.

I hope eventually we will start to see changes, timelines, and ETA's from you regarding many of the things that will come up.

Good luck and I look forward to hearing more from you :)

  7. I've been a long time player on both AP and UB. I agree with most of what PolarBears says. Imho the things that need to be addressed right away to at least get caught up with other sites are:
    1. Save a table layout
    2. Fix Timer issues (have to click for timebank)
    3. Auto Bring up table
    4. Hand Replayer
    5. Cant unregister 10 min prior to trny start time
The rebuy issue and fold to any bet need to be addressed as well, and it would be nice to have colored notes.
The only other major software issue I can think of that needs to be adrresed is when I'm sitting in the 5 seat when the player in Seat1 make a large bet(more late than early trny problem) that end in high number like 12399 the software stacks the chips so high that it covers Seat1's chipstack. So to be able to see how many chips he has behind I have to switch seats just so i can tell how many chips he has left. This is very annoying especially when in a few tourneys.

As far as tourney schedual goes the biggest weakness IMO is there are no 5k prizepools or buyins over $25 for the 1pm est and 2pm est. Theres a 50fo at 11am est 20r at 12pm est then nadda until the 30r and 50fo at 3pm est. Why not make a $22cubed 6k w hopes of it gettin to a 10k and maybe like a $60 6max make it a 6k w hopes of tryin to get it to a 10k as well. There are almost no daily cubes(only $55) and no 6Max tourneys during the day.

A few things I'd like to see on a personal note... Bring Back UB slide bar you could bet almost any amount u wanted without haveing to type in a bet(really nice when playin several at a time. I would like to see the $55fo 10k at 12am est be turned into a turbo(It would end at rougly same time every other nightly tourney u have ends which is honestly one of the nicest things about the tourney schedual on AP/UB.

  8. How long can we expect to have a playable tournament schedule. The entire thing now is cluttered with crap. It's sad when your diehard UB/AP players who used to play 10 Mtts a day are going elsewhere to play. I have supported UB over the years no matter what. But the schedule now is just so bad it's beyond belief. At least the perfect 10 gave us something to play...Now its back to crap and there is no reason to even log in.

How long it is going to take to get something worth logging in for???

  12. What the hell did u just do to the headsup line up?

Why would you take away the UT and change the UT500 to 300 chip.. That is ridiculous

Please change it back to the following :

    10$, 20$, 30$, 40$, 50$ 100$ 200$, etc etc..

    Regular, Turbo, UT, UT500 chips..

I've written emails to support about this in the past. I told them one way to remedy this would be to show their chip stack in the pop-up when u roll ur mouse on their screen name, as opposed to just popping up their screen name like it does now.

What's funny is the other day I was playing and certain players at my tables had this function and some didn't. I'd roll over one player and it showed Screen name, Chip Count and Player Notes. But then I'd roll over another and it'd show nothing. I was glad cuz I figured this was now being implemented, but I have yet to see it since.

So firstly, why if this is true why would it ever take them a year for them to say anything about it? Im 100% sure that this is not true. But now they are saying that they will send it to collections if i dont pay within 10 days. Anyone else had any issues like this? im not sure what i can do here?

I had this happen @ FTP. MY CREDIT card co. declined a 35$ deposit and 3 MONTHS late rFTP froze my account and it took almost 6 weeks for them to tell me what was going on. At UB you can call, email or use the live chat option and within minutes get the answers you need. It took months to sort shit out with FTP. (what a fuqn joke). I havent played at FTP for months and I wish Ub had a better micro & mid mtt schedule.
  15. yeah man but this has been 11 months now and they just now say something?? pretty unlikely im gonna pay the 600, unless they give me stone cold proof it actualy happened, other wise ill be fine just playing at pokerstars, fulltilt, or the many others that are available to play at....what im getting at is i dont know if i can trust the word of this company after all that has happened over there

  18. Hey Guys,

This issue was just recently brought to our attention by PTR. Here is the post from our CEO.

    http://blog.ub.com/2010/05/encryption-issue/

    Hello UB’ers,

One hour ago, I learned about an article posted today on Poker Table Ratings (PTR) regarding an issue with the local encryption that we use on the Cereus Poker Network. For those of you not familiar with the issue, PTR was able to crack our local encryption method. I wanted to blog to make sure our players and the poker community know how seriously we take this issue.

I would like to start by reminding everyone that someone would have to have the technical capabilities to crack the encryption method we currently use and they would also have to hack into your local network in order to gain access to sensitive data. We are currently working on implementing a new encryption method and we expect to have it live in a matter of hours.

I would also like to say that I am very embarrassed and upset that this issue was not caught by our internal staff or through the countless audits we’ve been through this year and last year. We’ve invested a great deal of money into all types of security and I am very shocked that this was not identified by us or the many third party auditors we’ve employed.

Needless to say we plan to find new security resources and third parties to help us test this solution and make sure we provide you with the absolute best security that money can buy.

I would also like to thank PTR for identifying this issue and sharing it with us and the poker community.

We will continue to update you on this issue but we will not rest until it is fixed and as I stated earlier, we plan to have this issue resolved within a matter of hours.

    Play well,

    Paul Leggett
  19. Please fix your software glitches.

For several months, I, and many other players, have experienced, and complained to UB about, a serious software glitch. The glitch can freeze tables and lobbies, crash the software completely, and frequently requires a restart of either the UB program or, in some cases, even your computer, to straighten out. The more tables/lobbies a player has open at one time, the more likely the software is to glitch up and freeze. At times the glitches cause the display of the tables to start flickering multiple table displays on and off the screen.

The software problem seems to affect the tournament blackjack and SnG lobbies much more frequently than the poker games, but several poker players have complained about this as well, so it is not exclusive to the blackjack tournaments. Players using every thing from Windows XP to Vista to Windows Seven have registered these complaints.

One player posted that your customer support department arranged a 'net meeting', and 'tweaked' his computer to get around the problem. I was offered this same 'solution' but was never offered an explanation of what was proposed to be done to my system or what was causing the problem. Your support staff also failed to arrange a suitable and acceptable time for this to be done. I don't think tweaking each user's computer to work around a software glitch is really an aceptable solution to poor programming, anyway.

When this glitch occurs, my error log shows that the UB/AP main application is trying to write to prohibited memory addreses, and that this is what is causing the problem.

All this has been communicated to your customer support and tech staff, and UB has failed to respond in any way, except to offer 'tweaking' on an individual basis.

If you want to keep players, and have those players active on your site, a good start would be to offer software that does not repeatedly crash. As I said many players have experienced this problem, and have complained to customer support about it. Please fix it.

This is the absolute biggest issue to be dealt with. This is totally unacceptable. I have had 3 net meeting scheduled then never got a phone call at the schedlued time. Then when I finally did get the call, nothing was resolved in any way. It is not up to us players to get this fixed, this is a problem on your end!

  23. I can confirm the issue, there have been multiple posts about it. Seems to happen after having 50+ tables open and close. I now preemptively reboot everyday that I am going to play.
  24. APJohn the best thing you can do is hand in ur notice ASAP

Id be ashamed to have any affiliation with this network. Get out before you get tied to this company.

I dont do those tournies. I play the 50 fo at 3 pm, 30r, 501r1a, 50r,130s at night on a daily basis......is the payout structure bad in what you play cause in the ones i do the payouts are good, probably better than some stars payout structures.....if you're saying the fields arent big enough thus the first place payout isnt that high, remember you play for an ROI not high variance wins

  29. Adrienne, could you please suggest a way to use tournament dollars in other tourneys besides the one you satty into. For instance, say you win a seat to the weekly $1K, and decide you'd rather use the TD's to play other events. The thing is, you reg into a bunch of events and then once your TD's get low, you're stuck with like $19.81 in TD's you can't use unless you win more. There's gotta be a way you can reg for an event using TD's and they just take the difference from your cash balance. Thanks.
