Hey. I know this is a shady first post on pocketfives. I am a somwhat respected professional poker player and longtime poster on 2+2. I'm sure many people here know me/recongize me. I was told by members of 2+2 to post this here since UB reps apperntly post on pocketfives.
I have had a cashout in the amount of $8,000 pending with ultimatebet for nearly a month. I have still been playing there while this cashout has been pending and they have not answered any of my multiple emails asking them what the delay was. On Friday I tried to log onto my UB account and encountered some strange error messages. I then started to email them telling them that I had forgotten my password etc. I was informed by a friend that you often get these funky error messages when your account has been closed/locked. Today I finally got a helpful and informative response by email that said,
"Your withdrawal and account were closed due to fraud on the site. These will
not be reopen for you and the funds were cancelled and not sent out for you.
Due to suspicious activities on the site, the managers have closed out your
account and stopped the withdrawal.
Please let us know if you have any other questions
Sincerely,
Shawn"
I find it very disturbing that UB can just close my account and take my money without any reason or notice. I have never committed any type of “fraud” or colluded in any way on this site of any others. They also let me deposit 8k on Thursday before closing my account the next day. This money is now, perhaps forever, in my ultimate bet account that I can't access. I already posted this on 2+2. More details in this theard.

That is disturbing. I like UB but this bs has to stop. An if it doesn't I'm simply going to stop playing there.
-
Unreal... I was thinking about trying UB out, but not now. Not after hearing this crap. I hope they give you your money back.
-
I once deposited on UB and quickly determined that it was a mistake to do so. Something always seems to be wrong....
-
b4 you get flamed since this is your 1st post i want to let everyone know Good2CU makes way too much money to even consider colluding. he definitely did not cheat or collude.
I think this is a horrible move by UB to close an account without any proof given to the player, or a specific reason. sounds almost as shady as stuff that has happened on Ongame skins...and thats bad. -
From reading the linked thread on 2+2, this sounds really bad and UB is going to take a hit if they don't resolve this soon to the poster's satisfaction. Glad I have no funds there to worry about. Recently, I was thinking about sending some bucks there...
-
just to clarify....
8k cashout, 8k deposit, and 4k was already in your account I assume??
Just seeing where the 20k came from
Part that especially freaks me out is that you were able to deposit more $$ while under investigation, then they froze your account a few days later. -
wow, and just last night i was asking people at a table on bodog how UB was and if i should deposit there.. i think i'll wait.
-
Yes this is correct. I think the true amount is around 18k~. I'm not sure extactly how much money I had in my account.
-
Sounds like you'd have a case in court if UB was a US company. But they're not. I'm not sure what to recommend.
-
That's funny I was just about to deposit on UB tonight - somewhere along the lines of $5000 too, but after hearing this I can't take such a risk. Hope it gets figured out for you.
-
bad beat for sure . Please post to keep us updated with results and future exchanges from UB support .
Flop -
why did you deposit with a withdrawl pending?
-
thats really bad ,,, UB is a horrendous site when it comes to customer service and now they are stealing from the ppl that still play there??
-
Im cashing out all my money from UB tonight, before I get ripped off too.
-
Way to Mass panic people...NO reason to wait for an answer or anything...Must be Stealing all our money...OMGGGGGG
-
hmmm u have friends that have gotten their account frozen??? interesting...
-
this should not happen to anyone, if u got banned, i dotn care what reason, u should gte 20k
-
There never was a reason to have tons of money in UB. They have shown time after time that they are poor quaility and this isn't the first time issues like this have come up.
There is really NO REASON to wait - Get your money out now and move to pokerstars. -
why his account was apparently frozen:
"A day or two before my account was Frozen I sent Apathy $8,000 as we was getting killed by some fish in a 50/100 game and needed more money in his account to continue playing (hence why I made the $8,000 deposit)." -
yeah, this is what partyoker used to do, they would let u keep dopositing and let u keep playing but never let u cashout. this happened to a few people i know (2 of them lived together and possibly colluded), either way, party shouldnt have let them keep depositing after their account was basically closed. i always heeard shady stories about party, and i was taken advantage of by them a few times. One example was when they took some money out of my account beacause i had transfered some money to one of my friends, and a year later he somehow owed them money for e-check instacashes, but it had nothing to do with me. but i just had to swallow my pride and let em rob me, cuz i made my livin on party, so i just wrote it off. And they took advantage of me on some other deals. it was like they were a mob boss, exept they were in another country and they dont have to look u in the face when they fuk u
UB has had there software problems and slow customer service etc., but they seem to have integrity, so unless u were doing something shady surely it will get straightened out. GL -
I am sending this link to some people at UB.
I dont know anything about it,but i think its odd they havent responded at all.
I remeber a similar situation a few months back when a person had been emailing UB for weeks with no reply over some funds at a frozen table and UB had not gotten any emails due to a technical problem with the players email.
Im not saying that is the case here,i would just say to jump the gun here and accuse UB of any wrong doing without any facts would be silly.

who is running the show over there at UB? are they not completely fucking embarassed at the fact there are multiple threads here and on 2+2 every day about how horrid their software, support, and customer relations are?
ub is an absolute embarassment to the online poker scene. the only reason i continue to play there is that there is a simple lack of options for mtts now that party and paradise are gone. i would never ever ever ever keep a substantial sum of money on there. -
I disagree. I've got a different perspective on UB, as I have been lucky enough to get to know a lot of the people who run the site, and I know that they are committed to providing a good product. I think a lot of the decision making has been poor over the last year or so, but it's never gone beyond things like disorganization and possibly an inept corporate structure.
That said, no one's money isn't safe on UB. I don't know what the situation is with the OP here, but I'm certain it will be properly resolved. UB has so many people involved with their site that care about integrity and protecting the needs of online players, and they're not going to let a serious concern like this go un-resolved. I have friends (including some well known players on this site) who have kept 6-figure sums on UB for years and never had any concerns/issues.
I think there is a whole lot of "group think" on this site about UB. Everytime anyone has any kind of problem there, they post about it, and that leads everyone to believe that there are constantly problems on UB, when in reality, very few people have had major issues with UB (this post is in fact about a major issue, but most are not). I've played more on UB over the years than any other site, and I've never had any problem there that didn't get quickly resolved, including the years I played there before I was involved in the industry.
I think the broader accusations, such as saying UB is an embarrassment, are generally unfounded. They do some stupid things, no doubt, like lowering guarantees or not hiring enough customer service staff to quickly handle emails, but they're not going to steal anyone's money, and they're certainly still a site that a whole lot of people here enjoy playing on. -
To clarify this statement, i meant to type "he" instead of "we". I make typos a lot. Apathy's account has not been frozen or anything so this is apperntly not the reason.
-
Strange,
I have been playing on UB for about four years now. I have NEVER had a problem with cash outs. -
you have a keyboard with the "h" beside the "w"?
