1. "Is FT or PS or Bodog any better? are their owners any less greedy? Can we ask for assurances that their security hasn't been compromised?"

You can ask them for all the assurances you want and will most likely get them. Doesn't mean a damn thing though. As long as the fox is watching the hen house we really can't be sure WTF is going on.
  2. Alright you want some facts

UB u can have as many as 25 accounts, u can register them in the same tourney.

My father used to do it in point freerolls that they used to run. He would have up to 20 accounts.

Here is how he got around the black seat problem. When the tourney would start he would log in to each account. That way ultimate bet would not remove him at the first blind level.

If he would bust out of one he would just go to the next. And so on. He would do it with 5-6 accounts. So I am sure you could do this in real money as well. Legggggggggggy said all of this months ago also.

I still do not think that ' is a sign for cheating but that is another story.

He was also able to do this at play chip tables.
  3. Gank for president!
  4. LMAO...King 'Barney' Rube---you are one blind mofo.
  5. I had the chance to meet Chris Welch when I attended the WSOP in 2006. I decided to e-mail him today to verify if the post from gank was valid. Here are the e-mails:

    Hi Chris,

You may/may not remember me from the below string of e-mails... you helped me out a
while back at the WSOP 2006 and with my Aruba trip on Ultimate Bet.

Recently there has been a lot of controversy in the online poker world and I
recently saw your name pop up in the pocketfives.com forum.

"5. Chris Welch, a former employee of Pokerstars, was brought on board by UB to
help clean up the site. He figured out the problem was that they were using a
version of the software from 1998 that had security holes in it(i.e. no security
firewalls were/could be put in place) that couldnt be fixed without a complete
overhaul of the software, which was estimated at costing 6 million dollars. UB
decided it was not in their best interests to upgrade the software."

I have been defending UB dearly for quite some time, but once your name showed up in
some of the "proof" that some players are posting regarding shady ethics in poker
companies... I was hoping you could shed some light on the subject.

Is the above post valid? Am I incorrect to trust UB as I have over the past 5
years? Is the management at UB respectable? Is my money safe?

Hopefully you can take a few minutes just to offer a few insights. Thanks for your
help in the past and I hope that everything is well with you.
    Thanks,
    Matt

    Hi Matt
Thankyou for your note the only comments I will make are these

1 I am a marketing guy , I led global marketing for Stars and was poached to lead
the global marketing for a company that worked for UB. I had no input into technical
areas as this was not my area of expertise.
Thus the comments regarding me and UBs technical side are frankly laughable !!

2 I left shortly after the passing of UIGEA in December 2006

3 In my short time working with UB everyone I met was in my eyes open and honest and
I have zero doubts as to to integrity of the management or the software.

4 UB have since merged with AP with most of the prior management of UB leaving. I
cannot comment on the current team as I do not know them.

5 I have worked in marketing in gaming for over 7 years and have over that time read
on various forums about integrity. Speaking as an insider I have seen nothing even
remotely dubiuous, why bother to fix something that makes millions playing it
straight? Clearly there is always scope for bad apples to not play fair but I can't
comment because I don't know the facts.

I am happy for the above to be posted in full

  8. sounds like another dutch boyd production
  9. well if that "eye-witness account" has been proven wrong, what else has this 'trusted reporter' got wrong??

  10. I've got two things to say in regards to this post:

One, I have a mate of mine (one of those shady dudes who jumped on the poker boom but was never a real player at heart) who had his UB account closed for collusion (And correctly so because he was colluding at SNG tables with a mate). He since has stopped playing poker because he can't seem to make any money out of it without cheating.

The other thing I would like to say about this post is of the allegations are in fact true, then your friend should really find a way to get some hard information and then get the hell out of there. I mean if there is someone's son who has access to the hole cards, then he's playing under a username - FIND OUT THE USERNAME AND EXPOSE THE FRAUD. On that note how can "your friend" continue to work for an organization that could be stealing from her friends (ie yourself Gank, and even if you don't play at UB yourself it's the industry you work/play in?).

I think that the exposed information not only sets the moral fibre right but there would be plenty of media who would be willing to pay your friend the information to correct this injustice.

You don't have to expose the source but without the facts on hardcopy or paper this really is a very scary propaganda blast.
  11. Was he able to do it at real money tables?

I had some mates who got busted for Collusion. To be honest I'm glad that UB picked that up, it showed me that that sort of stuff does get caught out.
  12. First of all, I have not put my opinion in this matter at all in my post, I am just passing along info that was told to me by an employee of UB and by another highly respected player on P5's.

Second, if Chris Welch would like to talk to me on this matter, I would love to hear what he has to say, but anything posted by King Rube, who obviously is an employee of UB, does not hold water with me. It is possible that my source had the wrong name of the person who was in charge of looking at the security side of things(or maybe he was dead on), but that doesn't mean the remainder of the info on the security situation is false. I will remove Chris Welch's name from the post, until I can get confirmation one way or the other on who was invloved with that, again, I was just passing on information.

Third, AJ Green, according to my sources, was overseeing day-to-day operations at UB for a period of time, that alone is more then enough to scare the hell out of me, for obvious reasons.

Fourth, King Rube, I am happy you make a big deal about possibly one error in my post, but you fail to address any of the real issues. Do you have any evidence you can supply us that would contradict my 'findings', other then Chris Welch might have been the wrong name of the person who did the security check? This week was the first time I ever heard the name Chris Welch, so I personally only know what was told to me by my very trusted source.

Fifthly, I do know the name of the person who was fired because of her son's cheating at the UB office, though I was asked not to use it in my post by my source. King Rube, I'm sure you know a great deal about this, as you are a UB insider, why not shed some light on this subject, instead of just jamming every post that puts UB in a bad light with nonsense? Though I will say, if the Chris Welch email is legit, I commend you for actually contributing something meaningful to this thread, didn't know you had it in you.

There are people, like King Rube, that have much more access to this info then I do, I urge you to tell us what you know, and help prove, one way or another, some of the points I made in my OP. It would be much easier for an employee from UB to obtain "hard evidence" that these statements are false(which I do not believe is the case), then for me, who has absolutely no access to anything, with the exception of eyewitnesses telling me their story.

How about an independent audit for UB, that surely would clear some of these things up.

  13. King Rube: You trust a person you have never personally meet? You place trust in only a written email too you; you are either naive or ignorant probably both.

My issues is not if you trust Welch who is a spin-person for the gaming industry, my issue is with how naive you are.
  14. I have personally met Chris Welch on multiple occasions in 2006.
  15. "King Rube, who obviously is an employee of UB"

"King Rube, I'm sure you know a great deal about this, as you are a UB insider"

lol, this is why your posts are a joke. You make ridiculous statements/claims and post them as fact.
  16. I hope whoever still continues to play at Absolute poker goes broke because its unbievable peopl still play there.
  17. O..the marketing guy has never seen anything dubious...clears it up 100% for me.
  18. King Rube,

What are your thoughts on egaming companies being regulated by a legitimate gaming commission with enforcement powers, kinda like brick and mortor casinos are regulated?
  19. anyone who trusts a stoner is an idiot J/K OBVVV
  20. A friend said this to me a long time ago; When the DOJ and gaming enforcement regulated online gambling there will be many people who will be charged with embezzlement, cheating and tax fraud.

The people who don't get charged with a crime will not be charged only because they are already dead, the victim of a violent crime.
  21. Marketing guy sez:

"Speaking as an insider I have seen nothing even remotely dubiuous, why bother to fix something that makes millions playing it straight?"

So I guess that settles the question. AP would never cheat, look at all the money they made playing it straight.

    LOL.
  22. I still think you are very naive...
  23. King Rube,

What is your relationship with UB?

You know so much about UB, but when it comes to the important issues, you seem to know nothing. Are you on UB's payroll?

I asked you some direct questions, and you just copy parts of my sentences and laugh, that is hardly a quality response from someone who thinks that UB is a quality place to play.

In my mind, you are either 1. an employee of UB, or 2. trying to protect a site in which you actively cheat on, nothing else makes sense.

So again, I urge you to actually answer some of my questions to you, instead of fluffing and downplaying everything.

Its easy for me to go away, just provide me with some proof that what I have said is wrong in someway. I do not think you can.

  24. sounds like a good idea to me.
  25. King Rube,

What is your relationship with UB? I am simply a player with mad love for UB.

You know so much about UB, but when it comes to the important issues, you seem to know nothing. Are you on UB's payroll? I am not on UB's payroll. I wish.

I asked you some direct questions, and you just copy parts of my sentences and laugh, that is hardly a quality response from someone who thinks that UB is a quality place to play. I am simply ensuring that people don't take your posts as fact. I mean really though... "i am the source everyone trusts"...

In my mind, you are either 1. an employee of UB, Nope or 2. trying to protect a site in which you actively cheat on, Nope nothing else makes sense.

So again, I urge you to actually answer some of my questions to you, instead of fluffing and downplaying everything. Does this satisfy?

Its easy for me to go away, just provide me with some proof that what I have said is wrong in someway. I do not think you can. Where is your proof? I am the only one who has provided any proof here... and that was when I discredited your point #5 regarding Chris Welch.

    P.S. Jennifear owns me.
  26. Its a start, but I would like to ask you some more questions.

How many accounts do you have on UB?

I have the name of the UB employee who was fired because her son was cheating in the UB office, what is your take on that situation?

Chris Welch's email really doesn't prove any of my OP false, other then that I may have misinterpretted from my conversation what his actual role was(meaning it may have been a different person who I was referring to in #5), the remainder of that bullet point I believe to be accurate. It also PROVES that he does not know what is going on their now, nor does he know how trustworthy the new UB execs are.

AJ Green was running day to day operations at UB, what is your stance on that?

  27. I have to agree, Welch's email to King Rube doesn't prove anything other than the spin he is using you to dispense. The question King Rube needs to ask; who's playing who?

When some goes out their way to defend any poker site a person has to ask themselves what are they really protecting?
  28. Obv King Rube isnt interested in answering the REAL questions.

King Rube is like a Mark Seif jr., talks a lot about nothing, then strategicly gets quiet during the important stuff.
