I'm a reasonably intelligent guy and I do take the time to look at a company's terms and conditions. However, I was completely unaware of the following and figure many of you must be also: I was transferred a sum of money on UB and two weeks later tried to cash it out. Not only was I denied because I had "not earned the money during game play" but they straight up took the money out of my account and adamantly refuse to return it.
This is the worst business practice I have been exposed to in my life and gosh dang it if I don't deserve it for giving a second chance to this corrupt, amoral, toilet of a site. -
lol if your gonna play on a pos site quit cryin
-
are you always an ass?
-
What would it matter that you did not win the money? There is no reason for it, it is just our policy kind of things.
-
"I'm a reasonably intelligent guy"
I beg the differ sir.
I am starting to think this is one giant level - with all the people who post daily about how UB stole their money or how something happens with the sites software.
New rule- If you chose to play on UB and somethign happens plz don't come and post about it. -
Not allowing someone to cash out transferred money without some play first is completely standard on stars and tilt.
-
Look - I hate UB as much as the next guy - but I agree with their position of not cashing out money that is transferred to you. Under the wrong circumstances, this can be done to launder money (and gee - what are the odds that there are people with ill-gotten gains on UB).
What they are basically saying is that they are treating the transfer dollars as tourney dollars. You must "convert" those dollars by playing in games - hence "converting" those transfer $'s to real $'s.
But where I am not surprised is that UB is holding onto these numbers. You'll probably need to explain to them why money was transferred to you and why you didn't play with these $'s - basically explaining how what is happening can in no way be considered laundering. But if you can't do that - or they aren't satisfied with your explanation - then they should simply transfer that money back to whomever sent you that money.
I'm guessing this is an over-reaction on your part. You'll need to be patient. -
Playing on UB = Fail

You may be right there. However, if they want to deny my cash out....fine! But removing the funds from my account, with no notice and no warning and no explanation is unjustifiable and simply wrong.
-
Being asked to play through the money is standard, but it's weird that they would remove the money from your account for no reason.
-
Lol...ok yer right. My thinking was that it might be safer to play there after all the industry and media attention. With all the focus on them, I thought it might, at least for a small while, be the safest place to play. I don't think that's an unreasonable hypothesis.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH

I don't care if it's in their T+C's or not, it's stealing if they keep your money.

For what it's worth, I don't see it in here:
http://www.ub.com/user-agreement -
UB doesn't deserve the second chance that many a poker player has given them. Concept of a dirty site....cheat/steal...get caught....find better ways to do it without getting caught.
Well....I guess they're doing it a little better this time around....at least they're flat out doing it in front of everyone instead of behind the scenes like a p*&&y.... -
Call Phill Helmouth
-
I bet they didn't apply this rule to those 'Super Users' when they were transferring money to other accounts before cashing out!
-
probably, dude just turned 18 and still lives in his parents basement...
this seriously, if it is a legit reason, eie. you're not a cheater, makes me not want to even try UB. i was gonna give it a go, against my morals, but this just proves things are not getting better there. still being shady. -
Seriously people if you continue to play on the site then realize these are the consequences that you will face. Everyone knows they are not the best to be doing business with. SO you have no one to blame but yourself if you get screwed out of money. Sounds shady but you cant do anything but just not play on the site.
-
I can def understand your reasoning but their site(s) (AP) are still shady imo. i was playing some cash money tables and got booted off because of my sn and haven't been given my $ yet.

sigh.... FU UB SMD&DIAF, k, thx, bye -
Well obv UB is absurd. I do wonder however in this instance whether they actually "stole" the $ or just reversed the transfer. Obv the two could be the same from the OP point of view if he has no recourse.
Also very much agree with the following:
"gosh dang it if I don't deserve it for giving a second chance to this corrupt, amoral, toilet of a site." -
Ur own fault for givin them money! After all thats went on and u still put money on there, U deserve it! IDIOT!
-
They did this to a buddy of mine...Check with the person who shipped. 99% he has it back. ub still sux tho FTP is king; keep r rake in the uspokerconomy.
-
