1. What am I missing here? I can't tell if a table is full or inplay without actually pulling up the table itself. The number of players and number of seats are all the same number.

WTF???????????

2. this is their response when you email them

Our new wait list system for sit n goes is designed to avoid extended wait for
our players.
While in our old format there would be several Sit n Go tournaments with the
same buy and prize waiting to be filled because only 5 players were seated at
each, this is not the case with our new format.

In our new format you simply choose the Type and the buy in of the Sit n Go you
wish to play and you can be certain that when 10 players share your preference
the tourney will start.

The tables will not be available until they start because there is no need to be
jumping from table to table checking when it will start anymore.
You can check ongoing games by checking the "In Progress" tab in the SNG main
Lobby.

3. Thanks for the info

I think that is ridiculous. Does anyone else, or just me???

4. there is about 5 threads complaining about this, you aren't the only one
5. There IS another thread :)
6. its just a totally diferent format. the way it used to be, you would have to wait for the page to refresh before a certain tourney would pop up. now they just show all available tourneys w/out ever refreshing. i dont thik its that bad. and all these threads are bitching about a diferent aspect of the same problem.
7. just took the time to read the read of the posts. Thanks. F the new format. I agree that having the ability to pick and choose your tables and your seats is a benefit and part of what separates SNG's from tourneys.

8. At the lower levels, for NLHE in particular, it used to be a crapshoot whether an available table would pop-up on your Lobby page before that SnG was already full and underway. And, the Lobby never kept up with the table. It might say 0 seated and by the time you clicked on that table and got connected, the game was already starting.

Then it was back to the Lobby and try again. You could waste an hour chasing your tail this way.

The new system, you pick your game and your buy-in and as soon as a table becomes available, if you're one of the top of the list, you get seated. No sweat, no hassle and no tail chasing.

Dunce
9. Dunce, you forgot to mention, "and NO choice" with whom you sit. Isn't picking the calibre of players with whom you sit a part of the game? If I understand it correctly, once you pay for the sng there is no refund. You can't just sit & if someone with whom you don't want to play sits.....leave.
10. HELENRNURSE, EXCELLENT point!! This may be one of the biggest drawbacks to the new system! Last week a buddy and me sat down at a $13 TEC SnG only to have SailorLobell and Legggggy both sit in a few mins later. I told my friend let's get up and move to an "easier" table and we did. This new format gives no refunds right? What a joke!

F UB and <3 HelenRNurse
11. it doesnt give refunds aftre the table is sat, but it isnt sat untill 10 people sign up. and you can see the people signing up on the new screen. you can leave at any time before all 10 poeple are sat.
12. True. Once you're seated there is no refund.

To get around that, check the Wait List before you register. If somebody you don't want to play with is in the same group as you would be in, either wait, or pick a different Buy-In level or game.

Shouldn't be too tough to figure out. For Triple Draw, it's groups of 6. For everything else it's groups of 10. So for HE, if you're number 17 on the list, check the names from 11 to 20.

Even with the old system, if there was only one seat left at the table, some ******** who you detest could sneak in and the game would start before you could notice and leave.

Nothing is going to be perfect. At least this saves the small stakes players form chasing their tails trying to find an open seat.
13. DUNCE, you are right about the azzhole that would sneak in last minute.. but with the new system it would be very hard to sit with a group of friends, like the $200+15 sng guys like to do from time to time.
14. Please note:
*Once you have been invited to a Sit and Go event you cannot unregister

This was printed under the new SNG rules.

And you're wrong about someone sneaking in at the last minute. You could always hold a seat tll the last one sat down & then decide to take it or not.
15. I have been "waiting" for 37 minutes in a $100+9 10 top SNG and there are 4 of us there.

I don't think, this is the kind of waiting period that UB was hoping to incur when switching to this format. Players can't tell if a table is full and running or empty and running. UB needs to alert it's members of the changes and how they work.

16. email them and tell them they are false in their attempts to make things faster and then need to change it back, but keep the challenge HU feature

I never had this problem in the SNG's I played. Never ever. Did others?
18. I never had to wait for so long to get a table before. Actually, tonight I left the waiting area after an hour without being able to get a full table to play. Felt like a doctors appointment, with all the sitting in the waiting room. At least with the old software, you could see another table filling up and move to it.

19. this is like when coca cola changed the receipe.... and where are the tecs tournys?
20. This is weird, I entered a SNG this morning and then unregistered, and I got my money back and I disappeared from the wait list. I mean there was an unregister button.

Maybe the confusion is, the unregister button does not show up right away, it takes about 1 minutes till you are put on the wait list and then it shows up. Maybe if the table fills up within 10 seconds of you sitting you might be screwed, but I did at least this morning get out of one and my history shows the refund.
21. Agreed, Soccer Mom, except when people complained about the "new, improved" taste of coke, Coca Cola listened and brought the old one back :)
22. I played in a SNG last night and I don't see a problem with the new format. You can see who is on the wait list so you know who will be at your table. The only problem with this is you can't control where you sit, but it rarely influences where I sit as there are so many people out there MOST you've not played with in the past.

This change seems to make sense and it may help reduce collusion. I got frustrated by the old format as it wouldn't refresh often enough and once it did, the table I was interested in was full. Many people have complained about the long wait with the new format....I too thought the wait was longer than usual. If UB can resolve the waiting times, which I would guess is a programming issue I think the new format is better. I new challege functionality for heads up is a good change as well.
23. lets hope so--- i think the only thing that party has over ub is that they allow deals--- i wish that was what they upgraded--- i just dont get the new version of the sngs-- and seriously, i hope they put the tecs back in there....
