How serious should we really be taking consideration of bankrolls and how the UIGEA will really start officially cracking down. I know they have a bit, but it still seems like 'the big bad wolf' story and nothing have officially been shut down.
thoughts? concerns? -
Noone can say for sure but you could always take most of you BR out and just leave a small amount on each major site. This way if you cannot make any more deposits you still have something to bounce back from. Also if you cannot make any withdrawels, you take a minimal loss. Still I don't think you have anything to be afraid of.

In years past stars was able to offer cashouts at the PCA. This could be a tool to deal with UIGEA. Obv not everyone will have the option of attending...but those with the most online would be well served.

.the UEIGA isn't making online poker illegal. It isn't making it illegal for an individual to cash a check at there back or other place. Correct me if I'm wrong there please cause its early, i just got up and am not thinking clearly, but everything I have read it has nothing to do with the individual. IT only has to do with financial instiutions.
tif you think you are going to need money on your poker account for real whether you are recreational or professional and see what happens. there will be ways around this and it won't shut down the poker industry.
poker is a great american hobby and we live in an online world. it only makes sense to play poker online and one thing the government can't due and never has been able to do is tell the american people what to do. the ppa is fighting, you better hope the poker companies are going to help us as we are there loyal company base. it might be a little shaky at first but as a great man once said : "We Will OVercome" -
because of UIEGA i just withdrew 90% of my roll Sunday night by wire. Not gonna take any chances.
-
you guys realize that these sites, even if they were to pull out of the US would still operate to the rest of the world - so regardless your money is safe. Even so though theres never a reason to leave a ton of money online and people who leave a ton online aren't the brightest

I have now moved 95% of my bankroll into US checking accounts WITH trouble. I'm laying low for the next few months to see how this plays out. I only have money on 2 sites rather than my normal 8 sites. This is NOT a joke and I do not want thousands of dollars stuck in a online poker room. My 3 US checking account in 3 banks have sent me notices concerning the Dec 1st deadline.
-
I am not withdrawing a dime. I am not breaking any laws.
-
UIGEA doesn't make it illegal to do anything. i'ts not adding any new laws to the books. it's an enforcement act, which means it's enforcing laws already in place that have not been enforced like they should. therefore, banks were never suppsoed to process these transfers, they're just saying they're going to watch them more closely

It doesn't make playing poker illegal nor should it effect withdrawls.
it's gonna be like when neteller went down, there might be some initial problems, but everything will be fine in a few weeks/month(s)

My 2 banks have sent me no such notices even tho I have used wire transfers and checks from both sites frequently over the past 1.5 yrs. Anyways, even if they can stop us from getting our money starting Dec. 1st I would be very surprised, but there is no way in hell that they can really enforce this bullshit law longterm.
Edit: Also, for anyone who works at a bank, is it really possible for the banks to trace wire transfers that come in through 3rd party processors back to poker sites? I feel like this would be impossible, esp if the sites keep changing processors, because it would be too burdensome and time consuming to have your employees follow a paper trail for every single wired transaction. Seems LOL yeah right to me... -
thats a big part of the problem from the banks prospective. they really don't have the resources to do this but they are gonna have to do something cause no one wants the justice department up there ass.

whole thing is fucked, sometimes i really think this once great country is going to hell and i really think we brought it on ourselves. -
Here is one of the notes from one bank did not mention Dec 1st, but came in the snail mail within the last 30 days.

"NOTICE OF PROHIBITION ON UNLAWFUL INTERNET GAMBLING" Federal law, the unlawful internet Gambling Enforment Act of 2006 and it implememting regulations, prohibit commercial customers from recieving deposits of any kind relating to illegal
gambling."
If you are involved in these type transactions stop immedetiaty or have you account closed.
It went out to all bank customers, not just my degenerate gambling addict. -
I wonder could you take your poker checks to one of the ...check cashing places around town that are not affiliated with the banks? Obviously it would suck to have to pay them the fee's but would it work ?
-
I was really worried about this and talk to a couple of friends from the bank and told them to check this out. Last night i get a call by two of them saying that they just had a conference with all the employees saying that the law is starting on DEC 1., and that all the banks that are under the FED cannot make a bank transaction that has to do with online gambling. They even talk about online poker and online gambling and explain it. Also they said it is an illegal transaction if they process something that has to do with online gambling. I am really worried know.
-
i'm taking my money off the sites completely, maybe this could be a good thing for the future of online poker. With the sites hounding the US gov't to regulate because I'm sure this is going to effect the volume of players now.

I understand that banks will not be able to process wire transfers, that is obvious. Will they be able to deposit checks from the sites, since they don't actually say "FullTilt, or "pokerstars" on them? Can we just tell them it is from selling stuff on the internet?
-Thanks- -
No they already know were they come from and the account that make them.

So, should we cashout or not?
-
I would if nuthing happens you can put it back in no costs.

No thousands of us should march up to the white house and let the Government know we are tired of them taking away our rights......printing our money until it is worthless as toilet paper ...and using fear to control us... Times in America will change soon . i feel and who better to lead the way than a bunch of a pissed off check raising MFERS!
