I was thinking the other day about different tourneys, such as shoot-outs, bounty tournaments and such. I wondered if anything like this has ever been tried:
Say the tourney costs $10. Half of the buy-in (not counting rake) goes towards the main prize pool, while the other $5 is your own personal bounty. Whenever anyone gets knocked out, whoever does so gets $5, so everyone would have a bounty...which would reward the aggressive players. In case of a tie, the bounty fee would be split, of course. I think it'd be interesting from a strategic standpoint, as some players would be all about trying to bust as many people as possible, while others would maybe try to go more for the top place finisher prize pool. It's conceivable that someone finishing outside the final table could make more $ than 1st place.
Has this been done, and if not - would it be worth trying? This would obviously work best for Hold'em. -
I play a tourney like this regularly but its a 150$ buy in with 50$ as a bounty on your head and 100$ going to the prizepool. Normally have 20-30ppl. Not sure if anyone has ever finished out of the money and made more money then 1st, not really even possible as we pay 4-6 spots depending on amount of ppl and 1st is usually $1000-1300.

WTF did you think a bounty tournament was? -
I only play on FT and stars, so thanks to those of you who weren't complete pricks about it. If I knew what a UB bounty tournament was, this thread obviously never would have been made.

lol you talked about bounty tourneys, then offered a suggestion for a bounty tourney and asked this has ever happened.
-
they used to run one exactly like that .. $10, with $5 as a bounty, but think they scrapped it with the 'great' (slash, most awful idea ever) tournament restructure
